Hadn’t seen it. It’s very complete but for now I’ll stick to the more basic stuff. Slow and steady.
Kind of slow over here lately huh? lol. Bison main here been using Cammy for about a week now and boy is she a different character. I like her style. One of the biggest reasons I decided to start using her was her DP. Although after using her I noticed that her DP is the only difference with Bison, well that and her walk speed. I still need to practice more with her though I know. I have a video of me playing a good friend. Its really a bad representation of me but I will take all the help I can get. I know I dropped quite a few combos and missed just about every AA. Sometimes I get stuck on using b+mp or DP or I do the DP way to late or input it wrong. any advice would help. Hopefully I uploaded the video correctly lol. Thanks in advance
I think you need to tighten your light strings. They look a little lose. You’re mediums are ok though. I think that might be because you are used to Bison.
If you have a hard time hit confirming jab, jab into special try doing counter hit setups instead otherwise you are wasting a hit confirm. Try something like jab (CH), st mp, st mk/st hp xx SA or cr jab (CH), cr mp, xx SA to give yourself a little more time to see the hit and react.
Use mp (hits low/fast, but short), hp and hk mainly for jump ins. Lk for cross ups. I saw you using mk a lot. Thought at first it was you whiffing dive kicks but realized you were doing them too late for it to be that. Mk hits high so it’s more for an air trade if you are jumping into their jump.
For anti airing spend a couple matches in casual just doing b+mp. You’ll get the feel for it eventually. It’s really fast so even in times you think it’s not going to work still try and throw it out while practicing. You’ll be surprised what it trades with saving you having to eat a jump in. Once you get that down practice st hk to anti air. On CC do cannon spike/CA as a follow up for some good damage. After you have those two down practice anti airing with all three canon spikes to get a feel of the difference in distance and timing. You’ll learn through practice only a few moves can be punished with cannon spike whereas b+mp and st hk will whiff (like cross up Ken’s and Nashes require an auto correct lk CS, Necallis dive kick and Ken’s air tatsu need mk CS, etc.) Learning to anti air with her is key to her success as her health is so low. You just can’t afford to let them jump in on you.
Last tip. I personally like starting pressure with st lk for a few reasons. You can tick throw easily after, on counter hit you can go into cr jap, cr jab xx SA, if they try and walk back you can do cr lk, cr lp xx SA, if you are trying to test their tendency to tech or hit buttons you can do st lk, cr lp, st mp, cr mk xx SA for a longer string to see when they like to press something during pressure. If they like to late tech you can do st lk, st hk to get a crush counter or st lk walk back cr mk xx SA to punish with a shimmy. If they are doing a solid job at blocking and teching you can throw in a st lk, cr lp v-skill to cross them up and mix them up a bit. The main thing with her is to vary it up and overwhelm them with options as it becomes really easy to predict what she is going to do if you keep repeating the same cr lp, cr lp, cr mp, cr mk string (you did that one a lot).
Thank you. I will do exactly all of this. My lights are weak so I’m going to practice them. I’ll stick to b+mp for AA’s until I get that down and used to it. So I was doing dive kicks too late? hmm…I’ll have to practice doing those faster. Ok so b+mp , new strings and CA after CC, CS. Ive also just realized how good s. lk is lol. Thank you very much @SunTzu81 I really appreciate. I thought the criticism would be a lot worse lol.
No I meant you were doing jumping mk too late in your jump to be a dive kick, so I’m assuming you weren’t going for a dive kick and were using mk to just jump in with. That is why I was suggesting to use different buttons for jump ins as mk is not a good jump in button. It’s more of an air to air button or one used for dive kicks.
Hey, what do you guys do if you opponent doesn’t quick rise or back roll after a Spiral Arrow? I think I have an idea of the timing for cr mp on quick rise but I’m not sure what to do if they don’t get up right away.
You can do whatever you want if they don’t recover after a knock down, just get your meaties on point or look up for some set ups. I usually walk up meaty them or bait reversals by whiffing a fast normal right before they wake up.
Like Deadxobbit said, you can basically do whatever you want. The opponent not doing a normal or back recovery is the absolute best situation you can have. You can have a meaty ready for the normal and back recovery but if you see the opponent not doing anything you can time a safejump, go for an ambigous jump in, do a regular meaty, can use dashes to push the body to the corner etc etc. What also is a good option is doing a meaty divekick on their wakeup then, this one will be + on block, you basically time it manually though.
There i no variable timing when they use no recovery, so you can time everything manually without much effort.
Start getting creative.
@Jeronado If you want buttons for specific timing…
QR - dash, st.MP/cr.MP
BR - dash, walk fwd cr.MP/st.MP (or dash f+HK, but you’ll lose your “turn” on block)
NR - dash, cr.MP, f+HK, cr.MP
Or you can just do things by timing like mentioned above
@Jeronado Start visually timing your meaties. It’s not hard but it does require a bit of training mode time. Just knock the dummy down, set him to wake up jab and start doing st.mp, st.hp xx arrow. After you’re feeling confident set the dummy to block as well and do st.lk, cr.lp, st.lp xx arrow (this only combos on counterhit). You’ll basically have to get this confirm on point anyway so might as well start now.
In time your head/eyes will get used to the timing.
Don’t know where this stuff belongs, but I guess it will help beginners so I post it here.

I’ve been playing for two months now with Cammy and it’s really frustrating that I just can’t get out of bronze, I’m literally stuck at around 900 league points since no matter how hard I try there are several things I can’t do with her such as using Cannon Strike effectively, pressure my opponents, link combos properly and using the proper punish (I try and use jab but am pushed too far away for it to connect.)
I can do most basic combos in training mode with ease, but once I hit online it’s almost impossible to do a combo right that isn’t a CC punish. Doing TKCS is pretty much a no-go since I use a gamepad and the timing is too strict for me. I keep looking at videos from pro players but after watching I feel as if had learned nothing at all.
Should I change character or quit the game altogether?
Rank,Name and plattform soldier!
We might be able to help you,if we can see some of your replays!
Shadowplay85, I’ve been playing since August and my last match was a mirror one, I did not do well.
I forgot to mention I have the game on Steam.
Ok,add me on steam, I’ll take a look on your replays later.
My profile is linked in my signature.
Ok, I just added you. My steam ID is Alvaro85.
Ok I watched some.
You lack in 2 big departmeants.

Your anti-airs are non-existing. Get used to AA a lot, especialy at lower levels is a good AA game devastating. If you can’t DP,get used to back+mp and st.hk
-
Your punishs are… well, not that good? Cr.mp,Cr.mp should be your minimum. St.mp -> st.hp is optimal.
Your neutral is kinda ok,but you should poke more, use st.mk and cr.mk more and throw st.hp out if you think they will press a button.
This is a common thing that happens with only using training mode to practice a combo. Once you get the basic setup and timing for a combo down you should go into casual and practice trying to land that combo in a match until it becomes second nature (CPU in training can help as well). The problem with doing a combo against a dummy only in training mode is you learn it with no other distractions. Once you get into a match those distractions will throw off your focus and therefore your timing. Part of being good at fast pace games is being able to switch between tasks at a very fast rate. You will need to test and train your mind, eye, and hands to look for and respond to specific things (attacks, blocks, throws, jumps) in a systematic way. Training mode is where you start, but you have to transition to live matches if you expect to get better.
