Cameo SF Character Appearances

They need SF in a Family Guy episode if they haven’t had one already. I mean they have almost everything you can think of, and SF is such a popular 2d fighting game.

Beuwulf in DMC3 had SF moves. (shinshoryuken, shinryuken, shoryuken, chun-li kicks, etc)

Mega Man X (in X and X2) also had SF moves (Hadouken in X, Shoryuken in X2), and even Dr. Light dressed up as Ryu whenever you received those specials.

They did man, one of the eps where Peter is talking about his kids. Except he went through different tv show names, then said “Ryu, E.Honda, Chun-Li” and Brian says “That’s Street Fighter”

I got the demo. It’s actually pretty decent.

In some of the MMX haves robots you save that have SF names that you save. Ryu, Chun-Li, Ken, Alex, etc.

Ms. Orange uses Gouki’s(Akuma’s) Shun Goku Satsu to heat up a stove in Okami.

Gene has a Shoryuken, you can do it up to six times (maybe more, only half way through the game) to keep someone in the air in God Hand.

Cammy is in Final Fight Streetwise. There’s also a poster of Ryu fighting against Balrog (boxer) in the game. I think, I’ll have to double check this one, it’s in Haggar’s gym. Cammy has an ad in the game for a sports drink and/or lager she’s endorsing called “Cannon Spike.” Another one for me to look up…

There are SFZ(A) and Darkstalker outfits in Crimson Tears.

Vergil has Chun-Li’s SF3 Tensei Rekka Super Art in Devil May Cry 3 Special Edition.

Ryu is hidden in an old Capcom shooter, I’ll have to look up the name but he comes out and does a Shoryuken and you can blast him away. The shooter is on one of the CCC games on the PSP and on the PS2. Again, have to look up the name…

When Mega Man gets Bomb Man’s move in Mega Man Powered Up it’s called “Hyper Bomb” as an obvious reference to Alex of the SF3 series.

South Park had a big SF parody episode a few years ago. Chef was Gouki among others.

Now it looks like I’ll have to buy that Simpsons game for the Ryu cameo. Cursed fandom… Good looking out though, least I can download the demo on PS3 to check it out.

In Mega Man Legends one if you pass by a house you can hear a kid talking about playing Street Fighter II.

In Ranma 1/2, the manga there was a scene where Hinako was playing Street Fighter II at the Tendo house. Of course when the manga was translated in English the scene of her playing SF2 was replaced with some generic game due to legal reasons I assume.

And for those not familiar with Lucky Star:

Dear god that film sucked. It’s called ‘The Perfect Score’… and it’s like a heist flick, but with more casual racist stereotypes.

It’s Varth: Operation Thunderstorm. Damn that’s what I was gonna say but wanted to make sure. Should of went with my gut.

I’m surprised no one mentioned Zero in MMX8 yet.

When using his knuckle weapons, his moves are mostly like shotos. He even has the Shoryuken (explicitly called the “Shouryuuken”).

Also his special trigger in MMX Command Mission has SF motions.

No Alex.
That was Megaman X6, by the way. In Blizzard Wolffang’s stage you have a bunch of lupine reploids to save that are all named after Capcom characters:

Moringa
Cody
Ryu
Guy
Ken
Nina
Batsu
Data
Regina
Leon
Chun
Sam
Naruho
Dante
Gomez
Arthur

Thanks Shiki!

Downloaded the Simpsons demo for the PS3. It’s alright, the comedy seems really forced, but IMHO the show has been like that for a looooong time lol! The Gameplay is a bit on the annoying side, taking down that big robot, but that could be just the demo. Graphics are okay but it could be a tad smoother, though I guess they were going for the cartoon look over making things look better than the cartoon, hmm. I dunno maybe I’ll rent it before buying… That EA label just scares me something fierce…

You mean Final Fight 2, right?

Because yeah, Guile was in the background during the stage 2 boss fight.
