ive been running tron(fire or boulder) frank(cart) and skrull(stone smite)
when used right stone smite can otg and wall bounce to where tron can end with lunch time special. stone smite is also good for cross ups due to its charge, if used correctly. the wallbounce can even help her extend a combo with a bonne strike. still working out the kinks but pretty good team.
^ I think you should at least have Tron use her Crouching H to OTG before Stone Smite hits. You can still get a beacon bomb off of it.
oh yeah, forgot to mention that. but you get the idea. i usually dash back with her than use s.H into QCF atk+atk
^ In that case, you should also add in her H Drill after the s.H and cancel before the last hit to QCF atk+atk. Gets you around 45k more damage and a little more meter.
Anyone here running Tron and Frank?
I got a nice combo to get him to level 5 but I’m looking for some more, and some ways to get confirms with Tron.
Her jumping medium and heavy work well if you wanna save the ground bounce for later. Also her crouching light and medium are good for high lows

Hes got some good Frank/Tron videos. Check him out!
So after some time to think, I guess I’ll turn to the dark side and pick up Vergil in my team for Tron/Vergil/Taskmaster.
Rapid Slash assist of course helps with Tron’s combo extension, and I can get a Swords combo after Tron’s Lunchtime. And since Tron doesn’t use a wall bounce, I can get some hefty damage. And Vergil’s sword loops and Round Harvest combos are easier than I thought, even on pad.
Me and a friend are trying to find an order to make his characters more effective, in terms of team synergy, so I’m gonna throw out a few team orders, and I would appreciate thoughts on each one’s strengths and weaknesses, and, if possible, an opinion on which one would work best.
Tron/Trish (peekaboo)/Chris(gun fire)
Tron/Chris(gun fire)/Sentinel(drones)
Tron/Sentinel(drones)/Felicia(otg or low assist)
Please lemme know if there’s anything cool there, and what would probly work the best. I don’t play enough of these characters to know truly what teams can play the cheap stuff, so input is extremely appreciated.
And for the previous post, yeah, sword loops aren’t terrible at all on pad. I learned quickly enough. BUT, consider Tron/Task/Vergil, for Dark vergil + the massive meter gain of the two other characters, as well as DHC lunch time into task’s counter super (I bet there’s stupid good stuff with up arrows super as well), you can do a lot of comboing after all is said and done (sharp sting, assist extension, sharp sting, other assist…and so on), that and rapid slash turns Tasky into a formidable zoner against rushdown guys. Oh, and for awesomeness’s sake, lunchtime DHC to counter, tag to tron, capture, more stuff, a very good thing.
^ Yeah, I’m aware of some Tron Lunchtime shenanigans with DHCing into Hsien-ko Gold Armor then tag either Tron or Task back in for beacon bomb and sharp sting respectively.
I can certainly understand why having Vergil as Anchor may be more appealing, though for now, I may keep him second since I’m still getting used to him. Plus, I could more or less kill off a god deal of the cast with Tron to Vergil DHCs off various hit confirms. I feel Taskmaster is probably my best character, and I feel pretty comfortable with him as my level 3 X-factor comeback character, but perhaps after I get used to Vergil more, I can switch up the order.
As for those teams you listed, I would say that the second team with Chris and Sentinel works best. When trying to pick up different characters for Tron, I always have to think, I need one assist to help her get in, and one that’ll extend her combos so she can get a beacon bomb or just go into Lunchtime. Both Chris and Sentinel’s assists can fit in either category, though Sentinel’s would be preferred for combo extension since she can get a beacon bomb. Plus, if you get the H Command Grab with Sentinel in the corner and tag in Tron, you’ll have enough time to OTG and continue for a full combo for some very nice damage (unscaled I think).
Next would probably be the team with Felicia anchor. It’s just my thought, but I’d prefer not to give Tron an OTG assist when she has her own. Buckler assist may be best to keep up pressure and get some unblockable setups with Tron’s j.H or j.S. And Sentinel assist of course works well for both.
Peekaboo assist probably isn’t the greatest assist for Tron save for maybe using it to hit confirm and start a combo. It definitely won’t help as a combo extender since the opponent will pop out after a basic combo, so you’d be relying on Chris Gun Fire assist to get a Standing H > H Drill > Lunchtime Super.
Just out of curiosity, what would an optimal Tron team look like? I’m thinking something like Tron/Sent/Dante, or maybe even a Tron May Cry team.
^ It’s Tron/Dante/Sent.
^ I always thought that could be a really good team for her too.
So… I’m having some difficulties with my current Tron team. (Tron Akuma Sentinel). Since everybody’s picking up Dorm and Dormammu nowadays, Tron is dead from full screen. Now I’m considering Tron and the Hardy Boys aka Dante and Vergil… or replacing Vergil with Iron Man (aka Flash Metroid’s Vanilla team). I’ve been warned that Iron Man isn’t much of a great character but I need some other opinions than from my friends who only play the top tiers.
^ I believe you mean Doom and Dormammu? XD
Whatever team you use, it wouldn’t hurt to make use of some of her tools that help with zoning, such as s.H and f.M while on the ground. When going against Doom that decides to do Hidden Missiles without an assist to back him up, I always drill and cancel to Servebot Surprise. So even when the missiles hit Tron, she can just continue the combo after the Servebot pummels them. If its Dorm with Doom backing him up, that’ll be tough, no matter which assist Doom has. Just gotta be patient and make your way in somehow…
Iron Man could provide some good backup with the unibeam assist, but it would be good to learn some optimal combos with him too. Best to start off playing who you feel comfortable with, but there are some characters that’ll help her out a lot more.
I do alright against Doom - just be patient and work your way in from the ground. Don’t stay directly under him, try to catch him with a jump back j.M. If you’re feeling brave, you can anti-air footdive with Gustaff flame. H-Beacon bomb works a lot more often that you’d think as well, since they like to just superjump up and fly around a bit.
Dorm, though… yeah, probably a good idea to get a different character in there, lol.
Iron Man is a good character that requires high execution to get him to that “solid” level (as opposed to Viper or Zero, where high execution gets you to “godlike”). For Tron, Repulsor assist is too good to pass up, imo (an amazing GTFO assist, gets you Clakey D ender).
Man, I was tinkering around with Tron/Sentinel/Spencer and Tron gets a lot of reset opportunities thanks to Spencer’s Slant assist. Stuff like kara command grabs and even c.B to a slightly delayed f.H for a grab.
Fun.
DJ Divine was telling me Tron/Spencer/Missiles has really strong synergy across all characters, but I love the mayor too much to replace him. I am still thinking an alt team of Tron/Spencer/Shehulk would be fun just for all the damn resets… huehue
Yeah, once you get a hit with Tron, you could probably take out one character with resets galore thanks to Spencer. Maybe one day I’ll record some more findings.
