Calling all Chuns! Please read

I think you will be interested in this:

We currently have a ‘team’ if you will that is working together to get better in this game. Most of us don’t have access to big arcades with lots of SF4 players, so online is our best resource. What we’ve done is set up several things:

We have an ongoing weekly tournie that we moderate and set up, usually playing 1 round of the tourney each day to 2 days. It’s a dbl elim, FT5 best of 3 rounds tourney.

We have an IRC chat setup to help facilitate matches and casuals (last night we had over 40 PS3 and XBL players online, needless to say, tons of sparring matches were had). This is also a good way to ask questions, get feedback real time, and just plain have fun with the guys in the community.

We have a ‘team’ forum set up to give permanent feedback to matches. The only reason we really use the team forum is to report matches and give breakdowns. It helps to keep SRK uncluttered and to not have to hear people whine about all the posts.

So, to all you Chuns out there feel free to join the endeavor. You won’t regret it.

Some information:

We are on IRC on quakenet. You can use a quick web interface to get in, but we recommend getting one of the many clients that conenct you to IRC. If you are unfamiliar with that, we can help. For now though, connect to us using:

http://webchat.quakenet.org/
enter in your nick as either PS3|name or XBL|name
the channel is #streetfighter4

As for the tourney, we have roughly 4 spots open, and it’s first come first served at this point. We look forward to seeing you all in IRC and getting some practice/matches in against those interested.

DBL elim FT5 bo3 sounds really really long… is there any reason for that and not a 2-round 2-game DBL elim setup? Nevertheless though I believe I’m already signed up and logged in and everything so c’mon Chun players! Probably best for chun’s that don’t have vibrant local scenes… like me… :frowning:

It really isn’t as long as you’d think. Each match takes about 10-15 minutes.

The format is best 2/3 rounds (not 3/5) and first to 5 wins. The actual bracket rounds are done within 2 days (due to scheduling etc). Overall it’s not bad. And during the times that people aren’t playing a tourney match, there are tons of other people on ready to do some casuals.

Check it out guys (and gals). I think you will be surprised.

I dont get it… I signed up but now what do i do?..

Mr Big Boi, when you say you signed up, do you mean in the original thread?

Your best bet is going to be to post in the thread I linked in the OP and then get on IRC to get introduced, etc. and start setting up spars.

Again, here is the original thread: http://forums.shoryuken.com/showthread.php?t=200770

Here is the web client for IRC (I recommend getting a full client…there are several free ones like mirc and icechat): http://webchat.quakenet.org/

Put your system username for the username and put #streetfighter4 for the channel.

We would LOVE to have more chuns as right now (at least on the PS3 side) we have only 1 person repping for you chuns. Next week we start a new tourney, so spots will reopen for those interested in participating in the tourney. And as always, there are tons of players on for setting up QUALITY casuals.

illwill1979 your not a chun player your a ken player. i played you a couple of times online your good gg.
