Don’t get me wrong i’m not saying he was a skill-less goon or anything, but all of those hits he a) leaves his feet, b) principal point of contact is the head and c) his arms are high enough that he can pick his nose. you can take the body without trying to hurt people
gootecks getting destroyed
I can’t wait for his SFV guide
hopefully my sfv results don’t mean i can’t make content for the game, otherwise collartug.jpg imo
I’m sure he’ll get top eight at a tournament held in a garage in Oakland and he’ll ride that victory to the bank… the money bank.
Perhaps you guys are just used to seeing tackles like that on the hockey arena so it doesnt phase you as much, but throwing your elbows up in the air and running into peoples faces with them is waaaay too much imo.
If you Took away the violence from hockey wouldnt there still be enough to appreciate from the spectators standpoint? People seem to get way too excited when people start fighting from the games ive seen.
imo nash looks good in sfv, good keepaway and buttons-y at mid range, i think he’ll be in the discussion for top 5 in six months
i dunno what to think of birdie, he looks good but people can react to jumping grab 100% of the time (eventually), so it’s just how well he fights at mid range
i think laura could actually be pretty good too just because she actually gets real resets AND she seems in range for a meaty after command grab, which is what other characters don’t have (although i don’t think you’re in much threat if you just block the meaty, she has to take a strong risk to beat blocking here)
Is there a final boss character in SFV?
I would agree, I think her biggest downside is that she has like almost nothing for confirms.
Zak, remember when we were in school and at our table we read the morning metro.
Chris Benoit…
Alot of dark times for WWE the previous decade.
Guys like Mankind and the Hardy Brotherz was really pushing the extreme.
One of the contributing factors why I stopped watching wrestling was after Owen Hart.
After the Rock and Steve Austin era, in my opinion is when it started to get really shady.
I’m sure even still to this day, Vince McMahon collects most of Dwayne Johnson’s paycheck.
The Rock got out of WWE sport asap after he blew up, its a meat grinder entertainment.
But yeah, I use to go crazy for WWF/WWC, but after Owen Hart.
That’s when I really fell off.
I like watching NHL, NFL and NBA…
But when it becomes more like cheesing the other guy with dirty sh1t.
I do kinda get turned off from the sport.
Players trying to literally wreck the other player and its not about the game anymore.
I used Laura for about 20mins in training mode and her hit confirms are ass. Her mix up is good on a training dummy but I can see it being hard getting mix up opportunities on a human opponent that can quick rise and/or quick back rise. Her normals aren’t even that good. I don’t want to eat my words later so I’m hesitating to say she kinda sucks.
I dont think she’s that great, but she feels like she has the tools that could be good.
I worry that I’m falling into the same trap I did with Fuerte lol
Sonicfox has been playing Laura so she must be decent
Id like to say im going to go into the game with an open mind and try each character out until i find one that really gels with my playstyle and who i have fun playing as.
In reality though ill probably just pick someone who i think looks cool and then force myself to stick with them regardless of what my playstyle is or how ass they may end up being.
Right now im lookong at karin, birdie, chun.
apparently there is a dota2 canada cup:
There’s a zillion different Canada cups.
Meh, NA DoTA is pretty fucking bad aside from EG. Not really worth watching imo.
I get why some people would think SFV is boring, but it’s looking pretty good to me. The Madcatz stream is pretty entertaining.
Everyone does seem to have a pretty obvious go-to button though.
zhi and mike ross saying EX DDT from birdie is as fast (or faster) than elena ex mallet in USF4
like… what the heck are these guys smoking, geez. maybe you’ll get hit by it on surprise but it’s not 15 frames, it’s probably closer to like… 25?
also i love how clear it is that some of these players have been grinding on a hacked version of the game for weeks/months, like they aren’t at all ashamed about it and everybody knows who it is now
as for how the game looks, the last two days of exhibitions have been the best showing of the game so far, yeah. everybody is going hog wild with buttons all the time; if sfv ends up being that type of game, i imagine it will be entertaining to play and watch. my main concern is still that, as we get used to the engine, we’ll realize that there actually isn’t as much of a reason to be scared as we think, but we’ll see on that i guess.
like, i hate to beat the dead horse on regular throws, but… the worst thing is that you have to block a meaty normal, i think? and this normal has push back and you can probably backdash pretty safely after blocking the meaty normal (or just take an air reset). and not even everybody gets meaty pressure after throws. i do think throws in the corner are pretty scary though, so maybe characters with amazing corner push moves (birdie with EX tackle?) will be a lot better because of that.
anyway, i’ve theory fighted this game to death now, i’m sure everybody is sick of me guessing about how the game will end up. all that’s left now is for it to come out and for the community to work through it.
i’ma play vega belie dat
