Spawn has more powers than Superman…plus guns, so it’ll be really neat to see what they come up with for his variations. His cape is gonna look so cool in this game.

Seems like a good fit for MK, but I kinda wish they put someone who’s never been in a fighting game before, like they did with Freddy Krueger in MK9
Yeah, but that wasn’t really ‘Spawn’ IMO. Since mature violence and 90’s 'tude define the character… (Stuff that couldn’t exist in a T rated game). That and his other most defining feature, his cloak, couldn’t be animated with the technology back then. He also didn’t have guns or chains or motorcycles or anything relating to Spawn really. He was basically guy with axe in a Spawn skin.
Spawn was the guest character I wanted most out of all the ones Boon has hinted, so I’m pretty happy. Other rumours were Alien, Predator, Jason, Sweet Tooth so far (stemming from Boon’s Twitter trolling). The Kombat pack says Guest Characters (plural) so there’s probably more than just Spawn.
This will be the first time we get Spawn actually being Spawn in a fighting game, I think.

Freddy Krueger was top tier his entire existence. He was seen lots. As for Injustice, every single character in the game made top 8 at a major except for Joker.
Scorpion was nerfed into being the worst character in the game (Perfect Legend still made top 8’s with him after nerfs). Superman was nerfed, but still considered top 5. Injustice suffered from the same thing American SF4 suffered from for a while. You’re going to see the most of what the best players are picking (Batgirl and Aquaman, instead of Rufus errywhere). You don’t even see a ton of Zod or Martian, accepted as top three characters, because the best players don’t use them. Injustice is one of the most balanced fighting games except for maybe USF4. (which is a miracle when you consider all the off-the-wall mechanics)
MK9 might as well only have 5 or 6 characters like melee though, but Freddy is one of them… he’s just not quite as wtfbroken as Kenshi, Cyrax and Kabal.

cronus max doesn’t work on ps4 (not that it would be allowed anyway), and there are no other converters that work
evo claims they’re going to have “loaner sticks” there in an unbelievable showing of naivete, what, you’re going to provide 200 pristine sticks across the venue and just hope that everyone is happy playing on someone else’s grimy, sweaty stick and that no buttons break on anyone? what if you like silent buttons in your stick? what if you like octo gate? what if the guy ahead of you lost and slammed his fist on the stick and now you’re not sure if it even works? hell, what if the ps4 port itself is bad?

they very least they could do is make sure ps3 sticks work on ps4 but lord knows they won’t do that, go fucking buy a $225 stick that you can’t even find online anymore because nobody has made enough sticks, and then go ahead and carry like 3 or 4 sticks to the venue for all the various systems you’ll be playing on[/details]

I just can’t imagine organizing an event and going to my participants and saying these things. I guess that’s why we don’t run EVO.
I know moving to one system for as many games as possible makes sense for everyone, I just don’t know if this year is the year to do it.
Seems like it’s the money talking to the EVO folks right now. USF4 isn’t even released on PS4 yet. The port may have some minor differences as well. Hitbox differentials. Controller input lag. The PS4 version may turn out to be the worst of all 3. It’s a big risk to take but I guess money trumps all right now. EVO’s gone corporate.
