Match up knowledge is one thing but remember that these guys play much more aggressively and are well versed in the mind games associated with KoF’s pacing. I find KoF is playing the player more so then playing the match up but the match up specific punishes are definitely necessary. I think your reactions will help you out but really drill in the KoF mind games and you’ll do a lot better in the long run.
I think Yao has the hardest bracket since he has to play TC Yoshi first and the bottom half of his bracket has a Colardo player named Pedro and from the few times I’ve played him online he’s good.
Paul probably has the easiest bracket between you guys but he has to worry about CMD Duc so he needs to learn the EX Kyo, Beni, Chin match up but for all I know the players I don’t know about are really good as well. I guess it doesn’t really matter for him since he’s more focused on the GG tourney.
Les has to play Luis Cha right away and Infiltration is also in his pool. lol

It was actually really successful in Japan and North America because it also appeals to non-FG players strictly because the storyline is canon to the P4 universe. In Japan, the game was widely popular in arcades with females, because of the Persona franchise. It’s actually pretty smart for Arksys & Atlus to do a sequel. The sequel is already out in Japanese arcades and is still doing well despite GG Xrd being released a few days ago.
Honestly, it’s not really too much of an issue in Japan, as people who are dedicated to P4U will continue to play the game so the player base doesn’t cannibalize itself unlike North America. GG Xrd has the potential to actually unite the anime fgc and have a clash between old school and new school players so I’m hoping for a positive result when the game drops.

i liked the esgn matches. some blow outs like tokido/ryan and infiltration/sanford but even those are interesting to watch. alioune just beat infiltration today in a close match. next he’ll play laugh.
