Hey peps, what’s the scene like here in Calgary? I have pretty much just been an online warrior (pretty bad) my whole life besides mashing cvs2 with like 4 other guys when I was in HS/uni. I’ve got some free time during the evenings now and was hoping I could get some real matches in!
Are there weeklies somewhere? What games do people play? Is there a BBCP scene here? I’d like to play BBCP or VSAV, but would be very willing to learn 3s or GG if people play. Also I guess I could start playing sf4 again if I had to.
theres meetups at tubby dog on wed and also at dickens pub every sunday. i cant speak for the BB scene but im always up or playing some vampire i usually bring my xbox with me to dickens that has it on there as well as some skullgirls and MVC3.
i would say the main games are sf4 and marvel, theres a GG scene somewhere as well but they arent at dickens often.
people often dont show up at dickens till a bit later in the day (like 4-5 onwards) but im usually willing to head down a little earlier if i know someone else is gonna be there.
so who is actually going to dickens today and at what time? gonna bring my 3ds with me for pokemans.
I think Miller and I are going to be there early-ish to play Magic and some board games.
I can play GG, but I cannot teach. But I’m willing to play the game, along with some other games such as SF4/KOF/SFxT/SC5/Mahvel. I’m also looking into learning TTT2/maaaaaybe BBCP/maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaybe DOA5. It’s just that I just don’t have the time to learn 
I’ll be at Dickens at around 6. I can bring a setup, but I cannot bring a stick as it doesn’t work right now.
To add to the scenes evilweevle already mentioned, there’s also UofC FGCC that goes on every Thursday from 6-10pm (idk if it starts this week or next week, but I’m pretty sure there will be one next Thursday). They usually play BB, Marvel and KOF, along with GG and, at a very rare occasion, SC5.
What time will ppl be at dickens. I can bring a few sticks.

Good to hear people play GG! I can pick stuff up from dustloop and I’m not completely new to asw games so I wouldn’t really need to rely on anyone to teach. I had a copy of #reload back in the day and have AC+ but no one to play with haha.
I won’t be able to make it today but I’ll try for next week if people are around. I’ve also got a disc copy of BBCP I could bring if people want to play.
Then I recommend you check out the FGCC meetup @ the university if you have time on Thursdays. You’ll find several guys willing to play GG, and are all really good. There are a few BBCP players as well.

Is it because the buttons are small? I remember playing on a Korean Vanilla SF4 cab in Hawaii and I really hated how small the buttons were.
