Jamies band is pretty dope, great performance for a first show. some small teething problems but whatever
not prog rock tho, more like… uhh I dont even know. dont listen to enough not-metal to think of a comparison
PM video of the day. Maybe the hardest new char to learn? Lucario is basically a Marvel character, though he has SF-style moves (neutral B is hadouken, up smash is shoryuken, neutral air is tatsu), and he can magic series jab -> tilt -> smash -> special, including in the air. Every time he hits an opponent or their shield, he builds super meter just like SF; he can then execute EX versions of all his B moves (that’s the giant super fireball, for example). When his hands are glowing, he access to at least 1 EX meter, and he always starts every stock with 1 meter. His down special move is that zippy teleport thing, and the EX version of that lets him attack at the end of it (ie, basically resetting his magic series to the beginning), so he can pull off really long combos. He just looks really flashy and I think a lot of this is pretty hard to mentally keep straight while playing.
It’s all good guys. Yeah I am far and it’s Wednesday. We will have lots more shows. This band is the real deal. We are dope.
As for genre, let’s call it blues alternative. Think black keys, bloc party, at the drive in, and arctic monkeys. It’s not very prog but I bring my own Heavily Mars Volta Drummer Trifecta of Awesomeness Influence With Splashes Of Bombastic Theatrical Dir en Grey and Gojira with Bloc Party rolls.
So we are closest to the Mars Volta as far as prog goes. Definitely not king crimson ish.
And yea as Cody said it was a good gig but yea not so tight yet. Kinda crammed w everyone’s busy schedules to come up with this set but a good night nonetheless. Happy I got to organize a good busy night for an otherwise slow bar too. (Y)
