Other games that I forgot to mention are, like… DOA5, SC5, VF5, 3rd Strike Online… but don’t think those have any chance of getting in as official games.
SFxT has a lot to prove yeah, but I think the tournament wasn’t a success last year because of the 2v2 format. The game was in a poor state then as well, true, but 1v1 would be better, especially if the game is better. Maybe they’ll give it to a different game (especially with SFxT part of the IPL), we’ll see.
Frankly I’m really surprised they’re announcing the games SO early. What’s the point, especially with SFxT’s release being right around the corner? Why not wait until March or something, when Final Round has happened and you can see whether SFxT is worth your time or not? I see no reason why they have to announce the games so early.
i would think the reason they announce the games in jan is to give people plenty of time to practice and develop as much BS tech as possible.
this wouldnt really matter for games like UMvC3 or SF4 since they are basically dead certs, but other games like KOF/DOA/TTT2 etc etc that arent guaranteed slots you would think less notice could only be a bad thing.
lol I’ve been streaming tests from XSplit’s new RC for the last hour . . . gotta get the sweet setting for the new laptop and the roxio now that XSplit has beta support for it.
def, MK communitys numbers actually keep growing year over year at the big tournys, With 100+ at NEC (I know that seems small to most, but for a brand new scene that is still growing it’s good for an almost 2 year old game) So Cal Regionals Winter Brawl and Final Round looking to be very good for MK as well.
Im so on the fence for Injustice right now just because we haven’t seen any new gameplay videos in so long, and they are super close to release date,
April release this year, MK9 was anounced for EVO before it was out but I think that was due to the name and all that jazz,
I personally would prefer to see MK9 there for a 3rd and Final year and have Injustice prove itself as a quality tourny game that the community will support.
Didn’t they say last year that there was no way in hell SFxT would be back this year even if they did update it??
Oh and what day are the games announced this month?
Ninja Edit: Evo numbers in 2012 were lower for MK then 2011, but were still 300+ compared to 500 in 2011, the difference being, most people that played MK in 2012 at EVO were only there to play MK, and there were not many SF players playing it anymore as a side game. I think if it were there for 2013 it would hit the 300 mark again.
not a gamer’s system by any means, but it’s got enough power under the hood to slay what I need a system for (design work!!)
and it can actually handle xsplit and run a nice quick stream fairly well. It won’t do a major, but firing it up for a day at Dickens or a Beer Fighter night is all right.
