Keep zell at low life, give tons of speed so he gets to act first, do limit break only using the two basic attacks over and over so you don’t have to react and can do like 30 reps = destroy everything in the game.
1 damn that safety is good at football. he is in perfect position. it’s eerie how when he gets hit his arms are straight down ready to tackle and then he just kinda eeks up like a construction crane. no reaction, anything, it happens far too fast. it’s cool, it’s a really good representation of the professionalism of football.
2 fuck watching that just makes my head hurt. i mean seriously, like i feel like his head just got fucking crunched. “Yeah coach I’m ok” meanwhile he can hardly see, lol he goes home and just can’t sleep because his brain is like Arghhhh fuck man. in 20 years he’ll have dementia n shit. but his family will be able to live comfortably so at least there’s that
meh playing QB is the way to go. you don’t have to take those stupid hits unless someone on your O-line fucked up hard.
hockey is no better but i think the game is making strides whereas football is a little too proud.
Yeah read friday night lights and you’ll learn a lot about football culture. it’s … pretty insane.
Nah, Final Fantasy 12 is if you use the right gambits. I literally put a rubber band around the two analog sticks and let the game play itself for a day. Easiest grinding ever.
FF12 is pretty easy but when i played it the battle system was at least engaging enough to keep me drawn in. FF8, there is no comparison. If you wanna grind, suddenly you become far too strong far too quickly in that game whereas in ff12 it takes quite a bit of effort. Eventually you’ll get diminishing returns with the exception of your licensing points, but it’s true that if you know what you’re doing you can take the right paths on the license grid and get way too strong pretty quickly.
also keep in mind in ff8 a large portion of your strength is dictated by draw since it also gives you stats and abilities, whereas with licenses, even if you get them, you need to actually buy the item / spell first. however if you get quickenings early in the game and rotate your gambits so that you have a steady pattern of healing / DPS then you are good to go for most fights. again though you have to have that ability to turn a disaster around which i really don’t find difficult at all in ff8. that game is … odd, when you look at it now, considering it gives absolutely far too many concessions to grinding players, which i realize are the norm but i mean that game was excessive. you can get the final spell in the first dungeon ffs.
I’m not even really sure this is true, to be honest. Many athletes (especially the ones that flame out early due to injuries, especially common in football) don’t really plan for the future, and considering many of these people grew up in tough situations without money, they don’t really know what to do with it when they get it. Aren’t there tons of ex-NFL players that have to sell all sorts of treasured memorabilia to support their family? Their body is all banged up, they have relatively few other employable skills, their mind is gone from hits to the head, and they can’t support their family… must be really scary.
FF12 could let you grind, and sometimes you could turn your mind off during battle. Lots of people who beat Yiazmat for example just set up some good gambits and drained him down to the critical point where he goes nutso while they watched TV or whatever. But I think there were still enough difficult bosses, the mark system was awesome, and the world was really well built and fun to explore. And hey, setting up good gambits and experimenting with that was actually a lot of fun.
Also, I love when RPGs let you wander into areas you aren’t supposed to be in yet, as long as the punishment for dying isn’t too severe. Remember running away from those giant balls of energy (elementals?) early in the game because you knew you’d get stomped? I ran through the Necrohol way underleveled to get the Zodiac Spear and it was such a rush of adrenaline, lol.
If only FF9 had the characters and storyline of 8. With the gameplay of 9.
That would be one solid game. Junction system is too OP, but the rest is awesome for 8. 9 has a bunch of shitty characters (minus vivi and beatrix) and an okay story. With a really good system
I don’t think I’m gonna make it to Tubby Dog today… Things keep happening that are making this process more and more complex and it’s starting to seriously piss me off. I still can’t believe just how much my boss fucked me over financially with all this, and he claims that he can’t do anything about it. I’m really not in the mood to leave the house right now.
If anybody has leads for other software development companies, I need help now more than ever.
Hey guys, just a reminder, I’m running my Street Fighter 4 AE ranbat tomorrow at UofC starting around 6pm.
Membership is 5$ for a year, or 3$ for the day, and there will be a shitty prize for the winner!
Hope to see some of you there, text me if you have any questions
You won’t be suiting up for them on Monday (CoC hiring process is notorious for taking a crazy long time) but you could always fire off a bunch of resumes in the meantime. Just click on the Information Technology bit at the bottom for the computer sciencey stuff!
