in all honesty i was frantically searching for an alternative the day i installed… and for a few days after. forgot about it (dealt with that shit) until i searched again yesterday.
you win this round, troy

also since in now used to win8, I honestly don’t miss the start menu whatsoever. regular windows feels so ass backwards now lol
Peter, i could speedrun Final Fantasy Tactics for you. I’d have to put some time in and settle on a run but I CRUSH that game. I’ve beaten it 20+ times, even doing Ramza-only runs. Dunno how long it would take me yet haha
i don’t see the necessity of the ‘metro’ (heh) unless you have a touch screen or tablet PC.
it’s a pain in the ass to navigate otherwise.
start menu does the same thing, except it doesn’t take up the entire screen or look like a neon pile of garbage
AE on PC right now
I just unpinned all the ugly shit. My start menu is hella clean and im oretty happy with how it functions
if you clean it up it’s better, agreed.
but you still have to stop everything you’re doing to look at a screen full of shit you’ll never use.
if i have any true valid point, multi tasking is a pain w/metro.

VS
dark souls progress: beat quelaag on first try. beat giant fire monster thing behind her on 10th or 11th try by punching fingers. went down to the magma but got beat down by a dozen demons with big hammers, so i gave up that way. got to the top of sen’s fortress, couldn’t find a bonfire or ladder to knock down, tried to fight iron golem. lost cause some giant asshole in the background kept throwing rocks at me. taking a break.
is there a way to get more spell charges? i’m stuck with 4 for great chaos fireball or whatever, and that doesn’t seem like very many.
There’s a bonfire at the top of Sen’s. It’s pretty hidden though, but often there is a user message near it telling you what to do. If you want to know the location outright, just ask. Also, there is something you can do about those giant rocks getting thrown at you, if you choose.
Down into the magma is an area you should attempt after beating Sen’s Fortress and the area that’s after it. I think you’ll just end up blocked even if you get to the bottom until you complete a certain part of the game you haven’t done yet.
The only way to get more spell charges is to buy the same spell more than once from different shops, which isn’t possible with everything (I’m not sure if it’s possible for that particular spell or not).
there is a ring you can wear that increases the amount of spellcastings you get by 50%, the only downside is that it also decreases your health by half as well.
i just thought of a cool game we could play for the speedrun/marathon thing, since there was mention of a side scrolling beat em up of some kind, plus its on XBLA as well so some of you could try it out if you want to see what its like. Its made by treasure as well who basically have never ever made a bad game.
apologies if the vid is crap i havent watched all of it and had the sound muted as well

its a very hectic game that (when you play it in remix mode) offers a lot of stuff in the way of fighting game mechanics that we are all used to. im talking chains, special moves that use SF style commands, spell casting, jump cancels, jump cancellable normals, airdashing, Light, medium and heavy attacks (with the Ls being chain-able for easy hit confirms :D) as well as multiple routes and being able to fight on 3 different planes (front/middle/back) i know you can play it 2 players but im not sure if you can do 3-4 players. it is a pretty hard game though esp if youve never played before. its really well suited to play on an arcade stick as well. you could play through the game in about an hour i think.
Nier 2nd playthough oh god… This game is full of feels man, everything in this game is so depressing.
only way to get more pyromancy is to obtain it in additional playthroughs pretty much you’ll get 2 copies of incinerate and fireball i think though by talking to different trainers… but yeah, most often its via NG+(+ etc)
Haha. I still have this and my snes. It was a fun game but pretty easy.
Anyone down for some ae??
WHOA! That’s hardcore. That game gets hard real fast.
the beginning is a bit challenging, its a complete joke midway on lol
The hardest fight in the game on a Ramza solo run is the first fight. you need some RNG help to get thru it with just ramza and delita
that said, after about the halfway point in the game solo ramza will be ridiculously strong, even moreso if you actually grind him up with Yell/accumulate, even MORESO if you use the job screen glitch to max out JP
hahah, second bonfire in sen’s. Classic. never would have found that if my friend hadn’t mentioned it. And you can deal with the guy throwing rocks at you by exploring a little more. Iron Golem is a chump ass boss and sen’s fortress is a very indicative level of all the challenges dark souls throws at you. Once you know the rhythm of traps and snake men ambushing you, it’s easy. But until then you will die a lot so now that you’re at Iron Golem you at least know how to get there.
The game really picks up after iron golem so i hope you’re still motivated. Surprised you mentioned in passing that you killed quelaag on your first try since the blighttown and depths are ANNOYING areas. Also, for Endless Discharge, there is a way to instant kill him. Once you aggro him (the first time you take the armor, there is some lore here as well), run all the way back to the fog gate. He’ll jump after you trying to get you and kill himself. I’ve never been able to beat him by straight fighting - not surprised it took you 11 tries. His cone of fire is essentially undodgeable.
Actually the craziest thing about Ramza solo is that the hardest fight in the game (Wiegraf/Velius) is completely trivialized cuz youre so powerful at that point as monk/equip armor that nothing can handle you 1v1, so you can spam Yell/Accumulate for ten turns or so, then outspeed the demons Velius spawns and one-shot him
