Hey guys is the asus vh236h still the go to moniter or are there better ones?
I liked the Gamecube controller for the most part. 
Are 1 + 2 the same thing? I assume the runners would be doing their best pace anyway… Either go for quickest you can, or some other goal (100%, wacky glitches, etc). Doing anything else would just be boring IMO.
Speaking of old games, I just got a NES emulator for my phone… I’ve got my eye on Kid Icarus because I couldn’t do anything in that game back when I was a kid so I want to finish it now (same goes for OG Metroid). Unfortunately, the touch-lag on my phone basically makes every game that isn’t turn based unplayable for me. Especially in Kid Icarus where missing a jump with the already wonky controls equals instant game over. :sad:
First online is unplayable for me (with the exception of SFxT) and now mobile phone games… I’m starting to think that I’m extraordinarily picky? 
Either way, it actually doesn’t have to be this way… apparently microsoft has come up with a lagless touch interface (pretty much). Will we ever see it though? Since the average gamer seems to be content with sluggishly dragging their fingers through mud for controls (aka 100ms of input lag, over 6 frames), I don’t see it happening anytime soon. Bleh.
I think playing shitty games is the way to go. None of us are really that great at these games that anyone would tune in to watch.
oh man oh man i just tried playing the other game i was thinking of speedrunning for this event. fuck me is it ever hard. couldnt get past the damn 5th boss on it when theres at least 30 bosses in the damn thing lol.
Welcome to the world of modern games. People don’t even know they’re playing on incredibly laggy displays because they aren’t good enough/don’t care?
When I was reading Rock Band Blitz reviews, one of the common things was wanting a game like that to be on mobile devices/tablets instead of a gaming controller, because it felt like a casual way to experience your RB library, so why not have it on casual devices? Never mind the fact that it’s a fast-paced game that requires very strict timing (as all music games do) and needs like 5 buttons instantly accessible to your fingertips at a moment’s notice. No, it doesn’t matter because these reviewers don’t care if they hit the notes or play well. It’s really sad.
And yeah, the technology exists (or will exist soon) to eliminate this lag, but if 99% of the people don’t care, why would they invest all the money in it? The end result is going to be very few games that are timing-heavy on any of these devices (or the ones that are there are unplayable for anyone who’s calibrated to not accept lag), and if mobile/tablet gaming takes over the gaming world as it’s looking to do, the days of reflex-heavy games with tight controls are numbered.

the general consensus seems to be play “shitty games shitty”. im down with that. all i’d request is that whatever game you decide to play, you have to have beaten it at least once cause nobody likes watching players explore.
so no more speedrunning, just playing obscure, or awesome, or sh1tty games and having fun while doing so. i’ll come up with a preliminary spreadsheet soon.
edit: don’t get me wrong, feel free to speedrun but we won’t be advertising it.

is anyone else occasionally getting re-routed to a scam Microsoft Security Essentials dialogue box on SRK? It’s happened to me a few times now… one of those fake sites, pops up with a message saying your PC needs cleaned, and it has a window made to look like a virus report except with engrish typos “you must stop the system breakage”

what a shitty game. when i was a kid we rented it and i got past the part where you have to save the guy from getting run over(after going at it for a week or two), the game turns into a horrible platformer after that
There are let’s plays of Superman 64 on Youtube, see if you can watch it.
It’s a funny novelty for a few minutes but then it just becomes unwatchable. Probably not the best choice if you’re trying to convince people to donate money to a charity, lol.

So all that money people donated with the intent of getting the MLP game into Evo is now worthless? I mean, it’s going to charity so it’s not actually worthless, but Evo just pulled a huuuuge bait and switch on all these people, while keeping the money they donated. And it’s not like they didn’t know MLP might not be finished when they started this drive just a few days ago.
