more than likely he won’t be the same player ever again. i dont share your admiration of a guy who SHOULD have rested when it was obvious his injury was getting in the way of his play. i know hes a rook and the savior of the skins and blah blah fucking blah. if you aren’t going to get the job done, and risk long term injury for it, then put in the backup and rest yourself
his whole career is in jeopardy over a season they had no chance in winning in, pretty stupid decision to let him play imo. esp since cousins was showing some real poise when he had to. there was NO sense in letting him play at all, imo. i mean lets say the redskins won, are you going to put rg3 out again on that leg the week after vs the falcons?

Football is a violent game and the fans/media have unreasonable expectations and don’t understand injuries. As a result, this leads to good players getting hurt when they never had to get hurt. (ie, the coach pulling their star player and “giving up” in a close playoff game to “save him” for future years can cause negative reactions; see Nationals’ pitcher Strasburg pre-playoffs this year)
It’ll probably be like this forever, and it sucks People want results, and they want to win right NOW… they don’t usually thinka bout long term strategy for winning in the future.

edit: My parents watch the TV show of friday night lights but there is no boobie miles in there. There’s a similar character but his character arc is totally different.

Yeah, i watched the movie with my football team when it came out. Don’t remember it, that was 9 years ago now. Holy fuck…
But yeah, read the book a couple years back. HELLA good book, I recommend it. That, and blackhawk down are two of the best non-fiction books I have read. And they translated really well into movie format.
