Nice abel discussion, but I’m just gonna say that any vortex rock, paper, scissor will fuck anyone up who don’t play the poker face right.
I avoid those games by running away. Lol I’m a coward, but no choice.
I fear that shit.
But when it happens, depending on the round/time, meter and health and the thought of risk vs reward, all these viables u must decide pretty much instantly. play ur cards right. Cause in these situation, it’s all about the mental poker face game.
My new fear is the same shit with frame trap mix up of full meter super and ultra in 2nd or 3rd round.
Fucking *cough gen!!!
Lol, Daniel, fucking solid.
I think abel is one of the funnest characters to play… just so many options and mixups it makes my pants tight. TOO BAD JAMIES ABEL IS BETTER THAN MINE. ;_;
daniel is such a smart player.
when we were playing last night he was talking about just doing math in his head during fights.
shit is so nuts, i totally don’t even think about frame data or math, just rely completely on instinct or “i know this beats this because i’ve done it 4000 times” kinda thing.
i was up two fights, down to last round of our final fight and he counter-hit one of my attacks with a low tatsu (?i think) xx super with gouken, so quick, so unexpected. godlike reactions and thinking dude.
i over saw sanger making a serious come back / punish with sagat against thuyet’s boxer. shadowloo battles are yours, eh sang?
its always fun watching sang and thuyet duke it out since they both go from the friendly folk we know, to stone cold i’mma FUCK YOU UP SON! once they’re facing each other haha
I just think Thuyet plays fuckkng dirty and disrespectful.
But if u play honest and don’t drop to his dirty ways and play clean and pure.
U can win, cause seriously his style makes me wanna mash dp all the time.
Adam too with fuete’s mix up.
But… Enough of my rant. I gotta work, hype fun night and everyone keep happy gamin.
I rely on math because I don’t have enough time to practice. I’m pretty sure I would rely on instinct if I got much much more practice. Go for instinct derryk, it’ll prove useful along the way. It’s not a bad idea to have frame data memorized tho.
When I beat Thuyet I play dirtier than him.
eg. I press very hard on my stick right beside the jab button so he’ll think I pressed something and go for headbutt.
totally random and off topic but i love this song…
Young and Dangerous movies are an important part of asian culture. most asians grew up watching Y.D. and mimicking their favourite gangster. in Young and Dangerous 3, the gang leader’s girlfriend gets killed and they play this tear jerking song… so sad…
you can bait the flash kick FADC attempt too, and punish it so hard. only one of Abel’s vortex options guile doesn’t have to worry about is safe jump option selects. While I can do it, its like a 1 frame eyeballed link to try and get the safe jump setup. f that.
as an addendum to what Ricky said, Abel’s mixup is strongest after falling sky, and both his normal throws. they are all practically the same knockdown. the mixup after TT isn’t bad, although if I do a crossup roll I have little frame advantage so I can’t just do meaty c.fp (which is unsafe on block BTW, -6). the mixup after ultra is roughly the same as TT because even though Im further away, you stay down for a long time. mixup after normal CoD … there isn’t one really except safe jumps that are too hard to do vs guile
best bit of advice about the Abel matchup was from Justin Wong. when you are knocked down, decide what you are going to do on wakeup and don’t second guess yourself. it is a horrible position to be in… that’s why five top Japanese players voted Abel as potential strongest char in the game
Balls, i should download them again and watch them. I had a tendency of hanging around a lot of the guys influenced by those movies back in the day haha
