Are you going to Tubby’s tonight Cody? I want to get blown up in Marvel. I need to start playing vs human beings more than once in a blue moon, especially Weskers. My match-up experience is basically nonexistant.

I wasn’t planning on Tubby’s tonight. was going to hit the gym out in Cochrane and then jam guitar after, gotta polish up my tune a bit more so a buddy can do some vocals for it. I’d definitely be down to play, Simon still plays and he’s got some awesome technology now so maybe we could all jam games one of these nights?
H&H does look sweet for combos. the Dr. Octopus card in particular looks pretty wicked, cancel specials into specials for 25% bar

his unblockables on tagging in chars with the right setup and assist are almost inescapable and he does a shitload of damage. then he can do everything… some of the best AA normals, tri-jump pressure with crossups, easy hit confirms, can zone, can nuke your assists, the left/right stuff with special cancelable dark matter…

All I can say the gameplay looks really promising(if you put up with the first game). The story not so much.

IMO it’s hard to tell a really compelling story with the FF13 cast. It’s just hard to get behind their motivations.
If the gameplay is fun though, it’s not as important. I’ll play Mass Effect 3 when I want a good story.
I’ll probably download the demo overnight and try it tomorrow.
The Battles are pretty much the same. I’m really hoping there is less Libra Scan - Mash X - Win through out the game. The battle system went from “Cool” to “Real Old” fairly quick. In XIII there only maybe a handful of encounters where you had to really be on top of your P-Shifts and manual ability queuing, and maybe only one of them were a main plot encounter.
Monster sidekicks are kind of cool, better executed than I was expecting anyway. Kind of bummed they just get thrown into the Crystarium build system, though. I was sort of hoping for more of a traditional / Pokemon-style level system for them. I’m not really fond of the Crystarium thing.
I seriously hope the story isn’t as much of a mess as my impressions of it are thus far. From what I can recall of XIII Ending Cinematics, I don’t feel there was really any need for some sort of follow-up. Maybe if the story end ups revolving around… [details=Spoiler]Fang and Vanille[/details]…which is not quite what it looks like from what I’ve seen.
