arthur, wesker and MODOK ftw, Wesker is too cool, one of my fave villians, arthur is awesome cuz i loved the GnG series and Modok just looks like a really good character

Hello Calgarians. I am new to the tournament scene, although I’ve been an internet warrior in SF4 and SSF4 for a while, and I’m looking to get more into the actual offline scene. I’m just wondering if Calgary has an actual arcade/gathering spot to play SSF4. And I’m also wondering if Calgary has an Arcade Edition machine yet?

Hope to hear from you guys soon, and hopefully play some of you =)

No arcade machine in Calgary. We play at Tubby’s (17th Ave and 10th St) every Wednesday night. Come on by and say hi.

In other news, just booked my trip to Japan! Feb 25-Mar 16.

Is it every wednesday? If so that’s pretty cool and one day I’ll definitely swing by and check it out and see how my DeeJay holds up against other Calgarians. And is it on an actual arcade machine or just an XBox 360/PS3?

Yeah, it’s every Wednesday. There’s usually 30ish people who come out. There are about 3 or 4 setups on 360s and PS3s with lagless monitors. If you play on a controller, you should bring one, otherwise we have enough sticks to go around for the different setups. Starts at about 5, but most people roll in by 6 or 7. Most people leave before 11 but often a few people stay until 1 or 2 AM playing.

How well has FFX aged?

I… never played it. But now I kind of feel like trying it. Although I have a feeling it hasn’t aged very well.

Also, for fun, I went back just now and did all the SF4 trials in virtually no time. My timing on links and execution in general sure has improved since I started playing SF4.

Fun games Temps.

yeah man ggs

I’m insaaaanely bored, if anyone wants to play some SSF4, hit me up. XBL Gamer-tag; KatatonicLegion

I play DeeJay/Blanka/El Fuerte/Hakan. =O

All?? You’re a god, sir. I didn’t even finish Adon’s until like a month ago… since then I’ve done all the grapplers ('cus a monkey could), and a few others… but I can’t get the charge character’s complex ones down…

FFX is as good now as it ever was. I find most PS2 graphics are actually quite exceptional even in today’s world. And since FFX was the best of those it definitely stood the test of time (I’ve recently gone back to Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3, DMC1 and 3, Shadow of the Colossus, etc, and the games are just as stunning as the first time you put them in when you were 14… or whatever). But that opinion is coming from a guy who thinks Final Fantasy Tactics is one of the greatest works of art since the renaissance ;).

The game is really linear compared to previous titles, but no where near as linear as FFXIII. It’s a lot of fun. I didn’t like it as much as other games in the series, mainly because the characters aren’t quite as deep, but the story is incredibly rich by the time you finish. The combat system is one of the best in the series.

It’s a must play; go now, for the good of the planet.

Yeah, it’s just such a long game that it’s hard to justify playing it when I’ve got games I’ve bought that I need to finish. I also really want to try my hand at Just Cause 2, which looks really fun (I had a lot of fun with the demo). Also have Mario Galaxy 2 and DKCR to beat. :\ But I do, for some reason, feel like playing FFX right now.

IMO only a few of the trials are hard, the rest just require good “SF4 execution”. Most of the links have similar timing, for instance. I’ll beat the rest of the trials for you (and give you some execution tips along the way), if you buy me a burger.

ffx is pretty fun. i always wanted to get the int’l version to try and beat the final (final) boss, penance, but i don’t think it was ever translated.

Sorry for the lag. My internet is notoriously terrible, but I thought I’d give it a try to see if we got lucky. If you’re still bored after midnight, we can try again, since my internet usually improves at 12 or 1am. I’m a night person so I’m always up that late anyway.

My cat died today :frowning:

I like trying to beat really hard optional bosses. FFX didn’t have any in the North American version or something?

i think there are some tough optional bosses from summoning monsters by killing X enemy in every area. but I only got halfway there in terms of getting all those bosses, then I kinda lost track of my memory card.

I’m playing FFXII right now. gonna 100% it. I like doing the extra stuff in that game. lots and lots of hard bosses.

FFX optional bosses were too easy. You could quick hit your way to victory so easily even against the ultimate boss.

Hory shet, what a fucking awesome video.
Edit My favorite video of 2011 so far. fucking epic.
