Cable teams..

Hi, I am pretty new to marvel and am looking to pick up a good starting team. I enjoy cables playstyle but am not interested in an all top tier team.

Others I enjoy are sent, storm, doom, cyke, akuma, rogue.

Trying to stay with one top tier, what would be my most logical choice? I am not against having another top tier on my team if they just fit really well, but I would like to avoid it as most of my local arcade go’ers do not use all top tiers.

Something that I came up with on my own so far would be doom/cyke/cable. Doom rocks, cyke aa, and cable aa. This team seems like a very good match and they seem to work well with each assist. What are some of my other options?

Another question I have… If I do go with an all top tier team, what team would cable fit well on without mags…? Thanks.

I did search, I could not find much on cable teams. Sorry if this has been done.

Storm-a or y/Sent-y/Cable-b <-- in that order.

SSCable is one of the better teams in the game. You have good ways of fighiting a lot with them.

You could try Cable/Storm-Y/Doom. A very well balanced team, but you must use the assists correctly to make it powerful.

There is always Scrub as well. That’s Cable/Sent/Capcom. You can’t go wrong with em.

I do not know all the assist yet.

I take it for sscable, the assist are projectile, ground, aa? If so, how does cables AA compare to some of the better AAA such as cyke and capcom?

Sentinel-a[projectile/lp rocketpunch]/y[ground/lp drones]
Cable-b[Anti air / Scimitar] [gives you alpha counter XX AHVB]
Magneto-a [Projectile / EM Disrupter]
Storm-a [Projectile]/Y [Variety/ Homing Typhoon]

For Team Scrub, it’s almost always used with Sentinel-y[ground/dones], Cable-b[AA/scimitar], and Capcom-b. Also, Snapping Capcom in isn’t nearly as detrimental to him in this team as it is in most other teams he’s in[;sentinel-y, and Cable-b…,].

You have the fact that blocking Cable-b is almost as bad as blocking Cyclops. It trades with Doom-b [in your favour], the opponent if hit properly by the Scimitar is driven extremely far away, so you can commonly wavedash forwards, and the opponent will not come down till he’s in the corner [so there’s a massive loss of good screen position]. Counterassisting someone with this assist leaves them in a situation where if you’re using say, Mags, you might be able to snap them out and get under the assist long before it lands and escapes.

One obvious way Cable-b compares is by being able to kill your opponent’s assist or character, or both should he do something stupid. You’re basically alpha countering Cable in, and once he’s just barely off the ground [from the forced whiffed scimitar] cancelling that into AHVB. You may guardpush whatever it is, and cancell the guardpush into AHVB to get the scimitar to miss. Here are some examples of things that can be punished…
-If the pointman throws a projectile or beam move including non-hailed typhoons, it dies.

-Throw out a projectile assist you can’t cover, it dies.
-Do something careless while your assist is being blocked that doesen’t adequately protect both your assist and your pointman, you both simultaneously die.

One team to try is Mags-a, Cable-b, Sent-a. It’s not exactly beginner friendly, but I recommend you try it anyways because of the fact that you need the variety starting out. Others include:
Storm-a/y, Sentinel-y, Cable-b
Sent-b, Cable-b, Capcom-b.
