Ok. our team got 420 dollars, 140, 140, 140. 420 is 60% of 700. That says that there were 23.3 teams in the tournament.
Moose says 3rd place got 80 bucks total, which is 10% of 800 obviously. That would be 26.6 teams in the tournament.
Besides that you can’t have 1/3 of a team, there’s a discrepancy here.
I’m sorry for not asking on the spot, but exactly how many teams entered the tournament? Can we get full results?
Also, singles SF4 was canceled, despite having over 50 entrants. I KNOW not everyone stayed to the end and got their refund. What happened to that money that wasn’t refunded?
Trying to do a singles tourney the day of when it had been advertised as teams only was a mistake, especially considering time/staff constraints.
Advertising a PS3 tournament and only having 2 PS3’s to start was also a mistake, especially since the venue nor the director provided any, nor gave any incentive for making the tourney possible.
I don’t really appreciate the fact that I HAD to run SF4 teams (which was 90% of the tournament) just because I don’t wanna stay there till the next morning. Biran had to run STHD just b/c he didn’t want to see the tourney canceled.
Profiting off a tourney where you don’t actually do ANY work is weak as shit in my opinion. The C3 owner usually gives a % of the venue fee to the “director” of the tournament. I’m not sure if I got my money’s worth, since I had to run the SF4 tournament, anyway.
This tournament was fun b/c of the people there and the team format. The actual tourney organization and execution left A LOT to be desired.
Especially considering there may be money issues involved.
I state for the record: this is not personal. This is a honest review of a tournament I attended this weekend. That is all.
And: the owner needs to cut the techno music and disco ball, SF tournaments are not raves.
