I’m aware of that, cr.lp superjump cancelled into ultra is easy as well. Doing it in a link combo is the tougher part. :arazz:
i just beat trial 5 on hard, but it pissed me off so bad that i changed my buttons to:

So I finally decided to start up trial mode and it took me a whole straight 2 hours to complete even after reading up advice on this thread. It helps to be good with execution and know how to buffer things and what not cuz if you don’t…you’ll give up quick. I had the hardest time with 2 combos…
**Focus attack, c.HP, HP Thunder Feint, Ultra. ** This combo is nothing more than a showoff combo that simply asks you for a display of your overall execution. The dumb thing is that you can do this combo just by dashing up after the feint and doing c.HP, super jump cancel Ultra (same way you super jump cancel 3S Chun’s close HK). That’s way easier and does the same freakin thing. :wtf:
Instead of course they want you to cancel the HP Thunder Knuckle and then feint it and then link just as you recover from the feint into the Ultra. If your timing is even SLIGHTLY off it doesn’t work. You probably have like 2 or 3 frames at most to get this off. You know it’ll work when you start the Ultra and Dan is in a crumpled position where his head is down at his stomach looking straight at the floor. If you don’t get that animation (Dan’s recovering and he’s looking at you starting the Ultra) you didn’t do it right. Even if you get the crumple animation there’s still a frame or 2 that you can mess up on and it won’t connect any ways. :lol: I had to use the Hyperhal method on this one. Which is basically c.HP, qcb+HP, qcf+2 punches (this buffers in the HP Thunder feint) qcf+3 punches. You have to buffer the feint into the Ultra or you won’t be able to do the Ultra in time. Doing 2 qcf’s to do the Ultra will have you jumping out the window since that wastes too much time and Dan won’t be in stun any longer by the time you’re done. :looney:
Obviously the next one I had big time trouble with was the last combo. c.HP, Thunder Knuckle feint, c.HP, EX Seismo, super jump cancelled GROUND burning kick, Ultra. The combo is very misleading towards the end where it tells you to do “High Jump then Hard Burning Kick”. A newer/ignorant player will think they’re supposed to do a high jump way in the air and then go for HK burning kick. Meaning they’ll never get the combo done the way the game wants to even though they’re technically doing it. I imagine the game wants you to do it this way since like Kyrojenix mentioned earlier…it makes sure you never accidentally cross the opponent up with your burn kick.
Execution wise the hardest part of the combo is obviously c.HP, TK Feint, c.HP, EX seismo. It’s really only 3 actual attacks but I had to think to do like 5 different things to get it to work right. My brother can do the combo by motioning the f,d,df+PP for the EX seismo after the feint but I myself can’t do it that way. I can’t move my hand over to the forward direction on the joystick after the 2nd c.HP in time to do the EX seismo. My execution is just not that good. :lol:
Instead I had a really lazy ass DevilJin method for performing it. This is the only way I could even START to do it correctly. I’ll have to practice that in training mode for a while to get any real consistence. The command I inputted was c.HP, qcb+HP, MP+HP (to feint), c.HP, df, df+MP+HP (EX Seismo), d,db,b,ub,u,uf+HK (grounded burn kick) then Ultra when they’re at Viper’s lower torso area. Which means after the Thunder Knuckle motion (qcb+HP) the only other areas I touch on the stick until I go for the burn kick are d and df. This makes it easier for me to cancel the second c.HP into EX seismo since I don’t have to move my hand over to forward to start a dragon punch motion. I just can’t do it that way.

but putting it all together? i guess it’s just mental, but I can’t do it yet.
The reason why you’re having so much trouble doing it during a link is that you you have probably 4 frames at most to do c.LP to Ultra after the c.LK. Just think about it. When you’re doing c.LP to Ultra by itself you’re not having to input the motion immediately after a light attack which does very little stun. You have all day to do the tiger knee super jump motion hit c.LP and then 3 punches for Ultra. The only thing to this combo that I see is speed. You just gotta do it fast as balls.
Viper’s focus is lame. Japanese only use it after a dizzy and then combo into c.HP, TK feint c.HP or c.HP, EX Seismo for damage.
The clock struck 12:46 when I finished Viper’s last Hard Trial and with all the joy in my heart, I proudly proclaimed:

Seriously, the way they set that one up was completely unnecessary. I landed the combo with the air version of the burning kick like 200 times today and only got the Ground version to land like 8 times (only to have that god awful Ultra missing each time afterward :wasted:) until I finally got it… This is over the course of several hours. Now I feel like I can play MVC2 or Arcana Heart Lilica with my eyes closed.
Anyway, I tried countless ways to execute it but ultimately I broke it down to 3 basic parts to get it (Practice them seperately then put them together method):
… The reason I broke it down this way is because there’s actually a decent window in between each of these parts for the player to input the commands (don’t know the exact frame count but it’s more than I initially thought). So it’s kind of like
Rapidly tap cr. HP, qcb +HP …slight pause… Rapidly tap 2P, HP… (extremely slight pause)… EX Seismo, backward tiger knee motion HK, Ultra
The last part was the hardest for me because I kept getting the air version of burning kick before I tried using backward tiger knee motion. After that, getting the ground burning kick off of a High jump cancel was MUCH more consistent.
Good luck Vipers… if you haven’t gotten to it/done it already, expect to be frustrated as all hell.

hmmm hard trial mode 3 is so retared. i dont know why im not getting the combo. i do the combo but it never recognizes the super jump. i go 9HK+ 5WK + 23WP69236WP so techincally i am doing the super jump directions but i dont know why the game wont recognize it. doing it my way gets all the hits to combo.
Yeah I told someone else earlier in the thread…I don’t think there’s much else to that c.LP, Ultra combo other than to do it really fast. Since the move you’re doing it off of (c.LK) has very little hit stun you’re forced to the c.LP to Ultra immediately. Anything other than a super quick input of the move hasn’t worked for me. Precise but really fast. As soon as you hit c.LK you better be doing c.LP to Ultra like your life depends on it.
I just finished all of her combos, and then I came here to gloat about it…except now I feel stupid. From the video I just watched (of the last trial), a HP TK feint is faster than a LP TK feint. I used the LP TK in my combo, and the timing was fucking hard as hell; it looks like the HP TK would be more lenient.
The sad part is: I didn’t even realize that you could cancel the HP TK. I tried once and it didn’t work, so I just assumed that it did not work at all.
Oh well, I finished her trials regardless. And now, the “Deadly Beauty” title is going to be rocked for a long while.
You have two problems. If your High Jump is not registering at all, then you are not going from down to up quickly enough (roll faster). Also, you are doing the Super and not the Ultra. The Ultra is what needs to be used in Trial 3. Try 9HK+ 5WK + 2WP369236PPP
I completed all of her trials (normal and hard) on a Fightpad.
I’m just gonna get a friend of mine to do her hard trials for me. I love having a friend who’s an execution god, and as far as I’ve experienced, the most useful Viper combo ever is :d::mk: > :qcb: :mp:.

Well, finally completed Viper’s level 5 (hard). Still didn’t get as frustrated with that one as I did her level 3 (hard). =|
Level 5 hard did help me get quicker with my feints.
LOL. You’ll be forced to play Viper defensively then. You need those execution skills to make Viper scary at closer ranges.
I had this exact same problem. At first I thought that I just wasn’t timing the Ultra right, but for this to work, Dan must fall into a crumple stun (ie FA Level 2 Stun) for the Ultra to connect. For this, you need to do the EX TK sooner. If Dan flies into the air after the EX TK hits then you did it too late. This took me 2 hours to figure out.
Until last night, I didn’t fully understand how to SJC and I got her Hard L3 combo on the third try a few days ago lol…I must have inadvertently hit up before the Ultra.
Hard L5 took me ages and I don’t think I’ll be even attempting that in a match ever, just not worth it right now. She’s hard enough to use as it is.
I guess I’m part of the “Deadly Beauty” club now, and like Spooty Whiteboy I’ll be using that title for a long time.
Yes completed it. Damnit had to use shortcuts to get this. I’m go back to it try to do it again without it.
The important one I want to learn is the c.HP to HP T.K fake to c.HP to ex. seismic hammer (no shortcuts).

I finally completed her level 2 (lol yeah my execution is not jap-like).
I used the shortcut, I don’t know if anyone else has mentioned it. But FUCK THE PROPER WAY TO DO IT, seriously. Do this and life will be easier…
lvl 3 focus, cr.fierce, TK feint, cr.fierce, EX seismo, HJC burning kick, ultra (do this when he’s low enough).
It gives you the complete, and is MUCH easier.
random tips:
Negative edge the fierce TK feint, so cr.fierce (hold) qcb (let go) -> jab+strong.
Do it fairly slow to let your fierce and TK feint come out…it isn’t inputted as fast as it looks, practice each section first…cr.fierce -> TK, then feint it, etc. If you’re getting EX thunder knuckle, you gotta hold down the fierce longer and do it smoother.
You can use down->up qcb roundhouse to do the burning kick after the seismo. As long as you hit the ultra when they’re low, it will connect. No need to strain yourself by doing stuff like 214 5 9+kick or any of that.
So with all that said, how the fuck do I get passed her 3rd one? HJCing an ultra off of a jab is the most wack thing ever for me to do.
FUCK YES!!! I got the 3rd one down.
gilley told me to just mash/360 the motion from the jab. He also told me to grip the stick differently, so I gripped it at the tip only and mashed + prayed.
Also remember to link the cr.jab a little late, or you won’t get the HJC as someone mentioned earlier. After that, you’re on your own :wonder:
