C.Viper Trial Mode Thread (Console Version)

How do you guys get the cr.HP xx Ex Seismo part to come out cleanly in Hard trial #5? I always fail at this part of the combo cuz what usually happens is her super comes out instead of the Seismo… any tips or tricks on this one?

when you do cr.hp, hold d/b instead of just down. either that, or make sure your motion ends on d/f.

Meh, I just did it the good old fashioned way. Though I did press the forward for the Seismo motion at the same time I pressed PP to cancel the fierce TK. So for me, it was 6+PP, 2+Fierce, 3+PP.

Finally got past trial # 3 , Then it took me about 20 seconds to do 4, should be done by 5 tonight, can do the fff pretty well, just gotta get the seismo to come out after the second c.Hp

OK, just passed Viper’s Hard #4 (and Boxer’s Hard #5)! Ouch, Viper #5 looks downright nasty! How in the world do you do the first 3 motions (cr.:hp:, Thunder Knuckle Cancel, cr.:hp:)? I could barely do TKC into Ultra on Hard #2! The last motions (cr.:hp:, EX Seismo, HJC, :hk:BK, Ultra) I should be able to do, as I did that in Hard #4. Accidently. :rolleyes:

… Why WHY do we have to have full super meter on trial 5… so much easier without these phantom supers…

I’ve been on 3 for a long time now, attempting it every few days, with no success. I’m 100% sure I can do 4 and 5 in one try, but this trial is killing me @_@

Just did them all tonight. I don’t think any of them were terribly difficult. Not easy either, but not too hard.

#3 only took me like 5 minutes. I’m sure the method I used has already been said but I don’t know I haven’t looked through this thread at all.

What I did for the cr. lp - hj - ultra part was :d:+:lp::df::r::uf::qcf::3p:. That’s all you have to do. You just have to do it VERY fast. This is on a stick though. I doubt this method would be possible on a pad.

I can do lp into ultra all day, but throwing in the lk messes me up.

Honestly, I haven’t really thought too much about looking here for preferred methods to doing it, but I do see a few methods that may prove better than what I’m doing now.

nm. finally did #3, and then knocked out 4 in one shot.

For whatever stupid reason, if you do the BK for #5 like :db::uf::hcb: + :hk: it doesn’t count it, you have to do :qcb::uf: :hk:

Not really an issue at all, but I’ve been doing it the former way since I started using her, so it took a few minutes to adjust once I realized why my original BK wasn’t counting.

I just finished Hard #5. Greatest moment of my life! lol. :encore:

Thanks everyone for all the tips, I couldn’t have done it without them. My only complaint is this thread is 24 pages long. Viper probably needs a separate thread for each of her hard combos. Anyway, muchas gracias to all. To those who haven’t finished, don’t give up, if I can do it anyone can.

this is unbelievably hard. i thought once i got past the tk feint to ultra it would be a little bit easier. but man.

Goddamit, I did Hard Trials 3 and 4 just fucking around in Training, and I still can’t beat Hard Trial 2.

Ive mentioned exactly how to do this trial quite a few times in this thread. Once you get it, its soooooo easy. Just dont give up, you’ll get it.

Ok, someone please tell me if im on the right track regarding vipers hard trial 3. I do the first four moves and my jump goes over dans head, so at least im GETTING to the jump. But ive put, literally a collective 5 hours into this trial and i really am dying. Ive tried everything here and none of it works. I have the 360 controller, a fightpad AND an arcade stick (just keeps jumping when i use that). Im turning catatonic…

What techniques have you tried already. Your best option is a the stick you have, but comfort comes first, make sure your using the desired device.

Since your jumping over his head, your not getting the Ultra out fast enough, since u have to pull it out in the super jumps start up frames.

the quick and dumb advice is (do it faster) but maybe you cant, so what I would suggest is trying to buffer your Ultra earlier.

So instead of doing two qcf after the LP, try to do the first one during the Standing LK, the motion would be

:d::df::r:+:lk: , :d:+:lp: :df: :r: :uf: + :3p:

or

:lk: , :qcf: , :d:+:lp: :df: :r: :uf: + :3p:

i think the first option is easier than the second, but they have both been proven to work

i tried both methods above, even in training and it said i was doing the inputs correctly but it just wasnt happening. This is a demon bitch that just refuses to let me pass!

Well then you just need to work on your timing if your inputs are correct. Just remember that this is supposed to be hard since cancelling a c.LP into a super jump leaves you like no time at all to cancel. It’s probably like a 2 or 3 frame cancel. You just gotta be quick and right.
