C.Viper Trial Mode Thread (Console Version)

hey i seriously need help on #3

the links are no problem for me, its just getting the high jump -> ultra. i cant do it without jumping, theres literally no time to do it unless im a robot… which im not.

heres what i do:

after the j.hk, :lk:, :d::lp:, :u:, :qcf::qcf::3p:

i just end up jumping all the time. is there a way to do it, or am i just too slow?

I hoped it would not come to this, but I must ask for help in clearing Viper’s hard trial #1.

There are just two things I can’t get consistently: the c.mp, and the m.TK.

I jump in, get the first two links, but not always the c.mp. Now, I know I have to hit somewhere around Dan’s chest for the c.mp to come out, but this isn’t always consistent. Then linking to m.TK is a pain since the timing under pressure is, again, inconsistent.

Tips? I know how to make the super come out after m.TK, it’s just these middle two links I need help with…

And the two punch buttons would just be the ones to cancel the TK, so if you did a :hp: TK then your two punches to cancel would be :lp:&:mp:

Oh, so that’s basically the same as me hitting Heavy Punch & Then Hitting LP+MP+HP After…

Yeah, its a lot easier for the trials if you just use the mapped PPP button

Yeah that’s what I’ve been doing, For Hard Trial 2, I’m just stuck on The “Burst Time” I can’t seem to connect it fast enough after my Thunder Knuckle Cancel…

I’m on 5 and I’ve been there for awhile. I just stopped trying for weeks. But I picked it back up today and I got to the last part and I missed the Ultra twice.

I can do it using the light TK cancel fine it’s just that I fuck up around the ground punch. I either miss the high jump altogether or I high jump and air burning kick. Seriously though why the fuck did they make it a SJC for the BK. That irks the hell out of me.

Knocked the last 1 out earlier. Thank god I’m done with it.

holy hell, thanks so much man. i did it in about 2 mins with the first motion you said. cleared 4 in no time as well, now stuck on 5… lol. 5 is definitely the toughest of all the hard trials.

How many people here have done C.vipers Hard trial #5 here? please tell me how the fuck you can do this.

I’ve spent almost 20 hours now. I’ve done EVERYTHING else but I CANNOT do this.

I can do the last half like 95% of the time. My problem is getting my brain to think fast enough to do the ST after the last LFP.

Thinking is not as hard as making sure my fingers are in the right place, and my brain recognizes in what direction I need to go.

C.Viper: Hard Trial #5

I finally did it!!!, let me explain this.

I knew I wasn’t going to get it the conventional way, and IF I did…I could honestly see this taking upwards of 100+ hours on this 1 combo, and I’m being VERY serious.
There was/is something from keeping me from doing this…brain wise or finger wise…or maybe both.

1 - set buttons

  • LB= PPP
  • X= PPP
  • Y= Hard Punch
  • RB= Hard Punch
  • Set X(PPP) on turbo

2 - part 1

  • Duck + Hard Punch
  • Then while the animation of the punch is happening press: Quarter circle back Hard Punch, THEN PAUSE
  • Now get ready to UN-PAUSE the game, this is what you do
  • Position your hand on D/F, and hold X(PPP)***(which was also turbo) UN-PAUSE***
  • Since I’m holding X(PPP) it cancels “Thunder Knuckle” and at the same time right after performs another Duck + Hard Punch
  • Then, do EX Seismic Hammer, then PAUSE
  • Pausing here gives you the mindset that you’ve done the move, and helps you get ready to do the high jump with a FAR GREATER SUCCESS RATE…which will enable you to actually perform this piece of shit of a “combo”

3 - part 2

  • UN-PAUSE, then immediately after: slide your finger from Down to Up-Right…trying to not hit forward, as to perform the High Jump at a greater success rate
  • Heavy Burning Kick You have to cancel the “High Jump” other wise it won’t count
  • Burst Time
  • Don’t do it right after Heavy Burning Kick, other wise you’ll miss

Well, talk about complete and utterly unconventional :lol:

I’ll just be sticking to my buffering method.

Yeah, I thought about that after about the first couple hours.

I just couldn’t do the S.Toss after Hard Punch, I had like a 5% success rate, and when I did get it, I was like…“oh shit, better perform High Jump with a 1/10 second to react on it”

That’s the way to do it. I cleared it in 10 minutes.

Now, after spending a combined time of about 20 minutes doing Trials 1-3 but without really learning anything about her, I have the feeling that the last two trials are going to be hell for me. :rofl:

What’s the best motion for the burning kick in the 4th one? :qcb::ub:? would :qcb::uf: work as well?

ive got serious trouble nailing the ex seismo after the c.hp, tk cancel, c.hp. i can do it, but i always get the super instead of the seismo…

whats really annoying is that i can do the last parts no problem, since ive done the whole combo if i start just with c.hp -> ex seis. i just cant get the seis if i do the tk cancel, screws up my rhythm completely… guess i just need to practice this and ill have it done in no time -.-

I personally had better success using :qcb::ub:, because I find that the motion is a lot smoother.

Try using one of the methods I posted in Post#308. Other than that… it all in the timing. Good luck! :tup:
