C.Viper Trial Mode Thread (Console Version)

Have fun with Hard #5. It’s the exact same combo as what you just did.

But yes, that does work.

not exactly. hard #5 requires you to do ex.seismo into hjc GROUND burning kick, which is not as easy. but still easier than doing that crazy feint cancel into immediate ultra!

Fair enough. I guess it’s difficult for me to relate; once I understood what they were asking for (an HJC Burning Kick as opposed to a HJ Aerial Burning Kick) I never really had a problem getting it. But I guess that’s because I played Guilty Gear for a while, and HJC is important with some characters.

The input for HJC Burning Kick is actually really simple; getting it to work just requires timing and practice. Once you learn it, it’s very difficult to unlearn. I guess it’s kind of like Fuerte’s RSF: once you learn the dynamics and the proper timing, it gets a lot easier.

I had a lot of trouble with that trial as well. My biggest problem was getting the super jump to come out after the light kick INSIDE the combo. I could do a c.lk sjc on it’s own without issue. I think it just came down to muscle memory, it took me over an hour of attempts to complete that trial and only ten minutes to get hard #5.

Keep at it and it’ll come eventually.

Finally did #2 2 days ago. Now im stuck at #3. This HJC so fast seems pretty hard…

Stuck on the last Hard mode one. I know what it takes to do to get it, but its been hours and i always fuck up on one part of the whole combo @_@

wow…tyvm casanova…:pray:. i knew, at once, that i was on the right track at the begining…almost imediatly i had the 1st four lite up but instead of a burst time ultra i got a seismic shock cancel… but a mere 10 mins later i managed to pull it off :encore::encore::encore:

again…ty…and ty too ekimris… i will be able to sleep better at night now :bgrin:

Ohkay first post… Here it goes…

Just wanted to say, that after a few days of kinda trying Viper’s Hard Trial 2 I thought I couldn’t do it. Then today, I tried to complete it. After about 15 minutes of trying and simultaneously reading this thread, I was planning to give up. But then, while I was reading something about someone saying that they don’t think it’s possible to do it without “cheating”, I heard the words “success”… … … I freakin did it without looking…

… That just made my day…

cool…great to hear all these success storys… and im proud to say that im now officialy done with viper… #5 was quite challenging but #3 took me alot longer for sum reason…

the only problem i had on 5 was, i kept getting this phantom super move instead of the ex seismic…and i know i WASNT doing a double fireball motion…it was holding me up from getting more reps at the end of combo, but hooray… now all i need is gens #5 and that platinum will be mine :bgrin:

Gotta love the super inputs that are somehow too easy to do, right?

I’m glad to hear that my advice actually proved useful to you, Broly. Maybe I can start moving up in the world of Viper players!

Good luck with Gen #5. I actually have the No Challenge Too Hard trophy, and that was the most painful by far. If you need some help with that one, the key is to count your punch inputs up to the Hyakurenko xx super. Note that depending on your timing, the input to change to punch stance counts as one punch toward Hyakurenko.

I’m not going to lie, though. It took about two hours and luck for me to get that. The link into Hyakurenko into super is the hard part, no doubt. I got up to Gekiro four times; it wasn’t until the fourth that I had nerves of steel enough to finish the Gekiro. I never drop the timing for complete Gekiro anymore, unless it’s online.

I’m a braggart when it comes to that. My title is Deadly Beauty and my icon is the Gen face cube. I won’t lie, I’m very proud of those. They’re hard.

Well add me to the list of people who’ve completed all of C. Viper’s trials

I honestly think #2 hard was by far the hardest one. #3, #4, and #5 weren’t nearly as bad once you understood how to input the commands and realized #4 and #5 are asking for HJC BKs.

Till this day I still can’t do #2 by command, the only way I passed it was by mashing buttons lol. #3 was not so bad once you got the timing down. If you can do #3 by timing #4 and #5 should be no problem.

Now all I have left are Gen’s #5 and Zangief’s #5. I know Zangief’s should be easy but I can’t get the damn green hand to connect at the end for the life of me. Gen’s I will try again once my hands have had time to recover from C. Viper’s trials… :wgrin:

Congrats. Enjoy your Deadly Beauty.

#2 was the hardest one for me, too, and I honestly think it’s because the link timing is very, very small. IMHO, if you get past trial #2 with Viper you’ve overcome the hard part. #3 is challenging, but it seems the method I posted here earlier works very well. I also found the first part of #5 challenging, but once you get that far it’s only a matter of learning how to do HJC Burning Kick. All that takes is understanding and practice, and unlike #2 those combos are actually pretty practical.

Well after about an hour and a half of failed attempts and muscle memory I finally completed Hard Trial 5, an accomplishment that makes me very very happy lol.

I sport my Viper Icon all the time like a damn medal of honor.

I had a guy quit a match before we started, and when I asked “why?”, he simply responded with “You finished the Viper trials, that shit is impossible, so if you can do it i’m not playing you”.

Made my whole day.

Hey Guys,

I need some help with Viper’s Trial 4 - 2… I don’t know what’s wrong, I can get that combo done but it doesn’t register :frowning:
I do the EX Seismic Hammer and High Jump into Burning Kick… I managed to connect every possible Non-EX Burning Kick after the game registered the High Jump with Dan still being mid-air… the game just refuses to let me pass this godforsaken challenge

Any ideas?

This has been covered a million times. But basically you need to do a ground flame kick off the seismo, you are Hyper Jump Canceling into a ground flame kick, so you never really do an air version only a ground one, why in gods name they decided that was the way to go I will never know, but whatevs its not too hard.

ok i’m getting a little confused  I watched this where he does the said move at 2:25… and that’s exactly what i do but for some reason the game doesnt count the burning kick…

but ill try with ur explanation maybe ill get lucky

Perform a tiger knee motion with your Burning Kick: :d::db::l::ub:+:hk:. By High Jump Cancel, it means you have to cancel the first frames of your high jump into the ground Burning Kick. In other words, you never actually leave the ground via your high jump. If you’re going airborne and doing the aerial version of Burning Kick, you’re doing it wrong.

I don’t mean to hound you if this is what you’re doing, but that’s what the challenge requires. So if it’s not letting you clear the challenge, then something must be wrong with what you’re doing.

Note that obviously, Capcom doesn’t tell you that you have to High Jump Cancel the Burning Kick. But trust us, you have to.

thanks guys
i finally managed to get past all her normal challenges… this particualr one was really tough… i don’t know what went wrong before as i jumped just enough to make the game register the high jump input and immediately after that i burning kicked dan midair (only him really being in the air, not me), but it didn’t work
so i tried a little longer and noticed no obvious change in what i did and all of a sudden it worked… so i guess it was all about the timing of that high jump cancel thingy

bottom line: viper’s normal challenges were the last ones missing and completing the other chars’ challenges felt nowhere near as gratifying as completing her’s… i really like her moves and it’s a lot of fun pulling her stuff off… i might as well look into her further!

Ugh, I did #3 and #4, #4 was hella easy did it on my first try as I already use a simliar combo in matches, BUT I hate 5. I really hate the FP TK Feint FP combos I just can’t feel the rhythm. I mean I can do it, but it takes so much focus to just get that part out my mind isn’t focused on doing the rest of the combo.

I have the same exact problem. I can do it, but I end up missing the rest of the combo. I’ll just give it a rest and go back to it. But I’ll be sitting there for hours trying to do it. I’ll end up doing the air BK into Ultra when I get the FP TK cancel FP. Shit annoys the hell out of me.
