C.Viper Q&A: Quick questions here please!

^^ Yeah it’s a Instant BK using ub.

Man i love this chick i hope she’s a permanent addition like all those shoto bastards.

Yes. its :qcb::ub:+:k: or you can just do a tigerknee-esque motion. I do a few of these whenever I have distance to build meter.

For the low as possible sj bk’s the method that works best on the crappy xbox controller for me is df, du then swinging down to back, my thumb can just do it faster that way cuz you only have to jump across the dpad (horizontally) once with this method. In regards to the issue of which strength to use, for spacing just under half screen use mk, for longer use hk, if they are in the corner pretty much always use hk cuz you want to wedge yourself against wall as fast as possible (note this is for crossing up which is what its best for).

In this , Kindevu does j.HK > Ultra. Does it combo like this just because he hit the j.HK nice and deep and the Blanka is still recovering or is there any special input?

Also the low cross-up BK at 6:27 do you just do that by inputting a high jump and then a BK… very fast?

Sorry for the very, very noobish questions.

A deep j.HK combos to ultra for Viper and a few other characters because of the length of the hit stun. No special input needed. Just buffer the ultra motion after landing the j.HK.

As for the cross-up, I’d input it fast myself, but I’m sure it could be TK’d.

Thanks, very helpful. So do you do the input slowly and still manage a nice low arc like that?

j.HK to Ultra is the easiest combo Viper has. So free.

how do you guys sjc fa or fadc her moves? The method I found that works is just buffer the sj during the animation of her attacks. After that it’s just a matter of timing the fa or fadc. How do you guys do vipers jumping insta bk cross up on downed opp? I try to do uf,df,d,db,b,uf is there a more reliable method? Also do you sjc the cr.mp for it to link to the ultra I’m confused as hell on this. My last question is how do you guys sj a low traj. Bk? I’d like to think it’s just a matter of timing and not some specific method. I usually just do 2,9,214 for a really low sj bk, or if I’m feeling lazy I go with 2369,63213. The inputs are smooth but fast, are there any other ways of getting low traj bks that you guys have figured out?

EDIT: I know cr.mp xx ultra link is a sjc but how strict is the timing and what method do you use to connect with it?

To HJC a FA I do the same motion I do if I want to SJC a TK or a ground BK, :qcb::ub::mp:+:mk::r::r:. I’m sure you could simply just do :d::u::mp:+:mk::r::r: as well.

The timing for HJCing Ultra from c.mp isn’t all that strict. The timing for HJCing Ultra from l.mp is much more strict because you have less leeway since the hit stun is shorter.

Method:

:d::mp::df::r::uf::qcf::3p:

or

:d::mp::df::r::qcf::uf::3p:

I’m thinking of practicing ex-seismo HJC FADC Ultra. It would be nice to not have to burn 2 ex bars to link the Ultra in that setup.

What is the most commonly used motion for double seismo.

Ive been having trouble with this.

dp+p, dp(ending in uf)+p is what I use; I always input dp+p, dp(ending in uf) even if I’m not double seismoing cos that’s how I super jump

I typically do the dp+p df, df, u+p. It works better on the left side for me though.

I use uf, f, df, d, df, f, uf+P after the initial Seismo basically I use the joystick motion to follow her hand. It gives me more rhythm by having that extra up in there.

df, ub, df+p

its just a matter of timing i use the same timing that im using for seismo sjc fk works well i got often 4-5 in a row

Does anyone have any advice when it comes to executing her links? I’m trying to get cr. lk, st. lk, crouching mp, mp TK down. I’m really inconsistent with it - I can’t seem to find the timing. Anyone have a tip when it comes to this, maybe in terms of the actual timing or some kind of visual cue that helps you know when to execute the next move?

lifebar method maybe?

Hmmm…yeah I didn’t even think about the lifebar method. I should look at where the lifebar hit indicator is during HP knuckle cancels so I can see the “FRC timing” for the cancel.

That lifebar thing, is it really different speeds depending on what hits? Or is it just one constant speed for everything?

Well to put in a brief idea of what I know…if you hit someone with a light attack the indicator moves very fast while it moves a bit slower if you hit them with a hard attack. I don’t know if that’s supposed to show hit stun or just how things string together or what but yeah.
