try :df::p::df::2p: for your first question. Also, you could try :df::p::d::df::2p: or even :d::p::df::d::df::2p: just dont let a forward go in there or youll do your super if you have the bars for it.
As for comboing from a standing FP to ex seismo, I think you just gotta be quick with it or try :r::p::d::df::2p:
Hopefully this qualifies as a quick question. I apologize in advance if I’ve misclassified my post.
I’ve just about resigned myself to the fact that I may never complete the hard trials. Can someone who has completed this monumental task take a photo of Viper’s unlocked icons in order to give me some added motivation? :lovin: Surprisingly, I cannot find a single online resource with icon screenshots outside of the kanji translations.
LOL, if you’re referring to me I have a stick…actually, two sticks (TE and HRAP EX). I think I may simply be too old (34) and lack the multi-hand coordination. I’m going on a few weeks of at least 15 minutes per day of attempts at Hard 2 and cannot do it. My right hand just spazzes out every time.
Yeah you’re at that age where you start holding your back when you’re pulling groceries out of the minivan. LOL. I’ll be there one day too I’m sure.
Tell me the commands you’re using on the stick specifically go do trial # 2 and I can help you out. Just so you know (since this isn’t the trial thread) trial # 2 is absolutely useless in competitive play and I personally think doing trial # 2 (in the legitimate…non bootleg/cheat method) is her hardest trial combo along with trial 3. Both of those combos are gonna have your hands hurting getting them to work and are basically execution exhibition combos. Trial 2 I can only pull off the legitimate way by mashing on the stick in training mode. Sometimes I get a rhythm going since I know exactly what to do but it’s just too timing sensitive to really matter in a fight.
Save yourself the arthritis and work on trials 4 and 5 instead of looking to complete every hard trial. Considering you’re allowed to skip trial 2 for trial 4 and 5. Can’t remember now. Trials 4 and 5 are much more useful in competitive play and don’t require you to be as quick and forceful with your hands. BTW you can cheat trial # 2 by doing trial number 5 and I think the game will for whatever reason clear the trial for you. You can also do c.HP, HP feint, c.HP (fierce feint fierce) to super and that will bootleg clear trial 2 as well.
nah you cant skip the trials. For stuff like trial 2 you just cant really do it on reaction. Just learn the proper/easiest inputs, then memorize them, THEN practice until you get the right speed down. If you try and do each part individually in your brain, youll get too excited and start mashing and probably mess up.
again for hard trial 2 the easiest motions are
focus attack, dash, then :d::hp::db::l::hp::qcf::2p::qcf::3p:
done with relatively even timing between all the button hits.
Well Viper pretty much requires a stick any ways so it’s not too off topic.
If you want something that’s just “decent” then I would get a Standard Edition SFIV Mad Catz stick or PS3 Fighting Stick 3 or whatever that Hori one is called. It’s decent but I will HIGHLY recommend you to mod it since the parts still aren’t as responsive as true Sanwa parts. You can half ass a character like Blanka on a stick like that but to truly get things out with Viper you want the most accurate stick possible. I was doing decent with my Hori EX2 360 stick but when I bought a custom stick with arcade grade parts…I noticed my execution got better like instantly. Things come out that much smoother.
BTW if you’re going to get a stick that you are even slightly thinking about modding in the future get a SFIV Mad Catz stick. Much easier to mod since the stick and buttons are the same size as the Japanese Sanwa/Seimetsu parts. You need to know almost nothing about modding to mod a SFIV stick whereas the Hori doesn’t even have the right button sizes and will require you to file things down to get stuff to fit in.
hey doe anyone one has the problem of sj instant flame kick straight up after seismo??
i can do that sj instant flame kick consistently with out the seismo at the angle i want so i didnt think it would be that hard
can anyone tell me wut im doin wrong??
You should be able to find your mistake if you go into training mode and show the inputs. You’ll be able to see exactly what’s wrong with your execution. Try slowing it down and breaking it into pieces. Do the Seismo, then just try to get the SJ to come out at the right angle. Once you got that, just add the BK.
I used to get a straight-up SJ BK because I was doing the motion too fast. Once I figured you don’t have to be fast at all, it comes out 100% now.
Just curious about something since I know pretty much nothing about Viper’s combos.
The other day I was playing arcade mode on medium, and ran into arcade mode viper. I had her on the ropes then she proceeded to do EX seismo -> HP TK -> ultra. Is this even humanly possible or is it just one of those things that you’d only see come from a CPU?
Yes…also a quick question here. I cant seem to get her instatnt burn kick out consistently. I tried it fast and slow, and its still coming out random. Any sage advice or guidance would be appreciated.
what’s your preferred method to superjump? I’m new to viper and was going crazy trying to do :db: :uf:… started doing a quarter circle from :df: -> :uf: or :db: -> :ub: after messing around in training for a while.
Make sure whatever motion you are doing it’s fluid. Also, I’d advise to make sure the motion is as tight as possible, so that you don’t get a hyper jump or a ground burning kick.
As soon as you can do instant lk burning kicks repetedly, then move on to the other instnats.
