True enough, I guess I was just meaning for the amount of time people spend trying to learn it, its not as useful as learning some of her harder stuff, like how to ultra everybody off of everything you hit, haha. I really can’t do ex sesimo to flame kick on block anymore unless I try to go for the cross up or make it whiff short, like I have to be really careful and mix it up as alot of people around here won’t block it anymore they will just reversal through it, or absorb it and such.
Yeah it’s a bit of a risky mix up but if they’re not looking for it can work once in a while. I’m trying to learn to be more honest with burn kicks in general especially since like you said…if you’re not crossing the person up with them they’re a lot easier to punish.
Pulls out hair I am having such a hard time SJC seismo into burning kick from the left side. If i’m close the instant SJC burning kick is pretty easy, but doing the visible superjump (29, 214) is kicking my ass. My hand feels lame trying this. Even the tiger knee motion is tricky. I actually have better luck with the 29214 motion. From the right its pretty easy cuz I can flick my wrist down/up quickly given the wrist’s anatomy. I play with my index finger going over the ball, the thumb on the ride side and my middle finger on the left.
I had trouble on the left side too, but I’ve found that :qcf::uf::hcb: works the best for me. There’s a lot of extra motion in there, but if I keep it smooth, it hardly ever fails me.
I have been experimenting with both, I wonder if i’m doing it too fast with that motion. I try to do it as fast as friggin possible which usually just results in a SJ forward with a fierce kick. sometimes nothing happens at all.
I practiced for about 3 hours non stop in training mode. Was landing this from the right side about 75% of the time. Now from the left… about 5%. I think maybe I was practicing for way too long and my brain might have turned to mush. I wanna get this bit down, as its a huge part of the game I wanna play with her, THAT I UNDERSTAND, yet execution is holding me back. I figure once i get this down I can go ahead and work more on TK feints, S.HP tk feint S.HP xx Seismo XX BK. That is my ultimate goal.
For me, I realized that getting the motion smooth is more important than trying to do it quickly. I don’t even really do it that fast since all my motions to that side are slow to begin with. When I’m practicing, I wanna make sure I have the motion down and I’m hitting all the points I need to. The speed will come naturally when you perfect the motion.
When I do the high jump but I end up with a fierce kick, I’ve noticed that’s usually because I’m doing something like :db::l: instead of :qcb:. If I don’t jump at all, its usually because I only went to :r: instead of :uf:. Once I know that, it becomes a conscious effort to always make sure I hit those motions, and after enough practice, it becomes second nature.
Turning Input Data on is pretty crucial for this. I’d be having a lot more trouble if I didn’t have that enabled.
Ahh thanks for the tips! On the right side I was doing :df::l: which prevented me from doing the jump. I noticed it was just the natural flick of my wrist and I made a conscious effort to do :df::ub: and it comes out more often now. Sometimes I think I do the superjump a bit too early, or it could be because i still sometimes do :df::l: from the right side.
Like others before me, I find :df::df::ub: to be the easiest way on the left side. just make sure the timing is right. It helps if I dont even start the motion until her hand hits the ground.
Does anyone think that EX focus attack cancelling vipers seismo/knuckle is a viable tactic? I was messing with these last night and it doesnt seem like they are a good use of her EX meter, given she can feint the moves anyway(Although not exactly the same thing). I know they work pretty nice for the shoto characters, DP ex cancel DP.
ex seismo, if it hits, FADC into ultra.
Yeah I got this workin in training, but I havent seen much or heard of any other viable uses.
Huh, I just thought of something. If you were to trade hits with a HP TK, could you focus cancel dash HP TK to ultra?
If you trade hits with HP TK you wouldn’t be able to FADC in the first place. All you need to do is dash forward - ultra.
As for ex-seismo FADC to Ultra, it’s viable. If you suck at landing the ultra after a hj aerial BK (like I do) and have 3 bars, go for it.
Hrmm. I didn’t know you couldnt focus cancel if you get hit. Thats good to know.
He means that when you trade hits, there is nothing to cancel. You can’t FADC because you’re not doing an FA, you just got hit.
I did understand what he meant. Thanks though! :lovin:
Sorry about that. I get frustrated at (apparent) stupidity sometimes. Especially after my scrubdom losing streak tonight. The final match was the best. Getting in against a Tiger shot, Tiger Knee, Tiger Uppercut spamming retard, going 2-0 behind, then coming back to 2-2 and about to finish him only to have the fgt pull on me. Things like that make me lose perspective sometimes.
My apologies.
Man, something I noticed watching a Poongko Ryu video and seeing it done online is that the fucking SJ sucks as just a SJ. Ryu/Ken has a Super Hurricane that goes LITERALLY off the top of the scree while spinning. I saw that video and later that day, had one hit me, and I was like, “Fucking Viper sucks, dude.” And I imagine it to have been a TK’d Hurricane. That’s the worst part. I don’t even think the execution is really all that important with that move.
WTF?
The hurricane kick is easier to track and punish though, SJ is safe if you use it with smart spacing.
Don’t worry about online scrubs. You’re going to go through that with every one you play. Make all of your online friends SRK people and you’ll never have to play a random again. Don’t play other games anymore.
I didn’t take offense! I just figured you might have read it wrong. Sagat pisses me off too - especially when I out skill the shit out of him for the entire round only to lose to tigers of all varieties.
