C.Viper Moveset and Attributes

Finally I was able to get the Seismic hammers 4 in a row all I need now is to just get the timing down. Wow it’s pretty cool doing that.
Second, also trying to figure out the instant hjc bk forward, I got this like three in a row just need to understand the timing.

Alright…went to Final Round this weekend and met up with Kensou. Learned mad shit from him so much that I don’t even remember it all. I’ll post it up later. :lol:

according to the numbers, all of rufus’s spin punches are completely safe. not even a significant disadvantage

Suppose I’ll let my threads die out since i made two(woops) and just post the info here.
I reversaled my ultra after akuma’s tatsumaki kick(heavy, not sure if thats makes any difference on the recovery) and it connected.
Not 100% on this because the guy was pretty bad and if he really decided not to block during the ultra freeze animation then sorry >.>

did you test this in training mode using the record function? you probably weren’t holding block for long enough

you can reversal ultra i believe all shoto sweeps on block cept gouken and sak? i’d have to test again i forget

edit: the rufus thing is still weird i’m blocking longer and sometimes it will still hit? this is just making believe theres something up with record mode.

dbl edit: anyone do mp knuckle instead of flamekick midscreen more often/all the time? i’m trying to see if theres some set ups that would make it more useful. i had been using flamekicks for the set ups/positioning but against chars like sagat i’d like to be able to go for the damage if possible.

I had reliable success discovering anti-Blanka strategies doing this in training mode:

Activate Record Mode and have the dummy perform whatever move you want them to do as soon as possible. Pause the game and activate Play Mode, THEN set the computer to All Block. I believe this works: as long as the computer is not trying to do the move, it will always try to block properly.

I’ll confirm that this actually works, and then we can determine if this whole reversal ultra thing works on Rufus. And I’ll be honest, I hope to god it does.

I did knuckles for awhile but if they tech its harder to keep pressure up. Now I use flame kicks almost exclusively unless I think the knuckle may stun…

does viper get thrown out of all her special moves on wake-up? I was playing against a sakura, and did wakeup thunder knuckle, all 3 versions. and her throw beat me all 3 times.

EX seismo is unthrowable HP tk may be but if it is its very short because I too have been thrown out of it, also you can do flame kick also unthrowable.

I’m sure this issue is dead already, but I had my roommate hold low block after Rufus’s tornado and attempted to counter with reversal ultra. No go.

My friend swears that Cammy can DP Rufus for free off of a blocked tornado, though. Anyone know anything about this? Or is my friend just talking crap again?

Random corner trick I’m sure people have picked up on by now, but you can get a hella ambiguous crossup short/forward air flame kick after a throw into the corner (any knockdown, I guess, but throw gives you a consistent timing), and it will pop them back into the corner for fierce TK or ultra or whatever. It looks pretty goofy, tbh, but it’s not a terrible way to cash in on your corner knockdowns. Can probably do it with RH but I’ve been doing it with short 'cuz it seems really hard to tell just what side that’s going to hit on, whereas RH kinda arcs a bit so it feels less tricky to me (though people eat it, so I dunno if it really is less deceptive lol).

I’ve been reading through the forums and noticed that people are still having trouble with sj.BK’s… its nice to have more then one option to get it to work, so here’s mine. If your looking for the lowest sj.BK possible, I found a couple of things:

1)its much ezier to time if you use any seismo feint cancel to give yourself better timing or after a blocked seismo because…
2)for some reason for me, i found it was ezsier to do if you broke it up into two parts (which you can do if you do a cancel/hit a seismo), trying to roll the motion for any of her Bks requires much more strict timing.

The normal way I do a low sj. heavy BK is:
seismo(it hits), 2–>9 (hold it for a split second) 214HK. If your super jumping you’re probably not waiting long enough for the 214HK.

If your having trouble with just doing a jumping instant BK, I usually let my stick go to neutral before I try to actually jump and hit a kick. So 214–>neutral–>9–>j.HK, specifically make sure you piano the 9–>j.HK they should not be done at the same time.

Hopefully that gives some people some other methods for preforming these moves… they are so important for her offense!

New discovery! I did it entirely on accident playing against a guy online.

Viper can cleanly beat Vega’s ultra with HP TK on reaction. Try it to make sure I’m not going crazy. It may be range dependent.
