That combo is known. The point of the box loop is that it gives you more meter
Is that so? I suppose that makes sense. Though, I’ve been working on a combo that actually includes both. I’ve got a technique to compensate for the hitstun deterioration. If it all works out, it could peg an extra 50-100K onto my, and possibly all of our combos.
Not only that, but burning kicks dramatically destroys the HSD. If you’re looking at a relaunch after maximum damage sometimes they will tech in the middle of the relaunch. Its an easy setup into the infinite though.
Hey guys i’ve been messing around with UMvC3 recently and i have to say Capcom is insane for not nerfing viper. She is still really good and they made her cancels from light and medium thunder knuckle easier. Someone like myself who could do them, but not reliably in vanilla, can do them all the time in ultimate, and they are even part of her mission 10. Well this confirms her damage output is still the same, as well as she can still do all of her Vanilla combos. This is great, awesome video. Now you have me wondering how you actually wound up with the game? O_o
I bought it from a store in LA. I know atleast 20 other people in SoCal that have it. Some got it thursday night and alot got it friday like me.

I like how you can feint the BKs anywhere in any combo and AD to try a throw reset or whatever. So good.
You just do it, and then double jump into OS throw. However, it is a very obvious and won’t work against better players. A reset in which you only have one real mixup option isn’t much of a reset.
There’s always the classic reset where, instead of seismo > Burst time, you jump up after the seismo and air grab.
Any reports as to how reliable that one is?
It’s not bad because if you make them block you can force them to the ground, but it’s still easy to OS against and/or Pushblock, so you might get away with it once just because of the surprise factor. Basic throw resets are really easy to read, so I find the best times to go for them are the times when it looks like you are screwing up your combo, it’s alot harder to be prepared for what appears to be a random screw up than something deliberate.
Here are some ideas I was screwing around with back when I was still playing. My notation will sooo suck lol but Imma try explaining stuffs.
I used Dooms missile assist. With it you can go…
- Seismo jc. (move backwards if they are in a corner) INSTANT (on the way up from the jump!) j.H MISSILE ASSIST xx AD to follow their airtech to try and air throw them.
That make sense? D:
1- If they throw tech!
It will push them back (hopefully into a corner) and you can dash towards (or better yet Seismo where they land and jc.ADF to keep pressure on) Then the missiles will be on the way down and you can Focus Attack or try to mix high and low through the mess. Even taking a hit if the assist is hidden on the way up and it can come down on them if they attack you. You can barely hear missiles through spammed Seismos! LOL
2- If you miss the throw when they tech backwards or in place
Then they will be stuck in the corner just like a teched throw would place them and you can do the same as if they teched your throw instead.
3- If they air tech forward and you miss the throw
They hit the missiles on their way up and have to block or take the hits. Then they get stuck blocking a block string (with maybe another seismo if they push block so you can AD back towards them) and then they have to block the missiles on the way down by then, where a Focus Attack can break through as they block the missiles.
^ That is kind of why you wanna jump BACKWARDS after the instant j.H too, so if they air tech TOWARDS you, you can still AD up and make their throw tech send them back into the corner.
Just a few options. There are some really juicy things with Doom I screwed around with back in spring. I cant remember some of the fancier stuff but when I play again Ill try sharing some here.
Of course this is es-capable with teles and things, but you can get a LOT of variations out of this and it limits plenty of options so you can read what they do and react to it.
Basically the only interesting part of that is INSTANT jumping Heavy and delaying the Air Dash for after they air tech, and holding the position with Missiles.
Though Im sure everybody tried this already, I heard Doom (and Dante?) are popular Viper supports.
Spencers air grapple is a great assist for her too, more tricks with different style. Her Seismo assist helps Spence a lot too. Dropped Spence and Dorms pillar, though they have really great stuff to help her with.
Am I missin something or you really can’t relaunch using Magneto’s assist anymore?
I wish I had the game so I could try it myself. But the timing on it might have changed due to Magneto’s Disrupter getting an increase on startup, hence it comes out slower. Try playing around with the timing and see if it works.
I don’t have the game yet, but my guess would be because assists are now affected by hitstun scaling. I think multi-hit assists (ala Unibeam) or bouncing assists with FADC are gonna be the way to go in Ultimate.
The only problem in using Iron Fist is that I’ll spend the wall bounce that I could use after with Devil Trigger.
And boys, the TK Feint M/L is really REALLY easy, I haven’t missed it one single time.

I was really considering Mags too, but wouldnt an assist that doesnt soft knockdown be better for relaunches anyway since you could TKF string with them TOO?
