C Viper - Combo Thread

Viper really doesn’t have any one frame links. Maybe st.H heavy TK feint to cr.H but you never want to do that.

But yeah it seems you found a combo. lol. I like the ones that use only 1 meter for 1 mil damage and build 2.5 more. Naturally though it depends on how you start a block string or hit confirm. You could go the easy route and do st.M st.H Medium TK into EX.TK which wastes a meter (still does great damage though). I’ve been trying st.m st.H into heavy.BK. On hit you go into heavy TK feint (on hit) and continue the combo from there for very very good damage. I’m starting to get use to st.M xx l.seismo for a block string and then do a BK mix-up off the SJC. That seems to be a good future for Viper.

That combo I put up kills Wesker and starts off a poke string that’s also a block string in your favor and also a combo. :smiley:

Ok I got the same damage without using Akuma assist (that was causing my drops) but if I don’t start with C S in the air I don’t get the meter for it… I guess I’ll stick with that tho, even without the DHC is really good damage for a BNB.

Adding a LP Feint on hit I can get the meter… Guess I’ll get back to 1 frame link BNBs lol

You can get more damage without using Akuma, the reason for the combo is that the first section is a brain dead hit confirm that’s also an exceptional block string. If possible you want to save Akuma for Dante to extend his volcano + jump S sections as that adds more to damage than anything he does for Viper.

anyone got a combo ending with her lvl 3?

Anything that has a burn kick or EX burn kick can go into level 3 assuming you have the gauge. :smiley:

There’s a few ways she can end in her level 3 by herself but usually requires you to cut the combo short. Other than that she requires an assist to combo into the level 3.

The most common one would be ~623A>JamSession>[stuff]>j214C>lvl3. Most useful after a throw, but usually just doing a DHC gets you the same damage for less meter.

Viper’s lvl3 is actually pretty useless, not because it’s bad, it just doesn’t really help our damage, and we have Emergency combination as a better invul option.

the way to end a full viper “bnb” with her lv3 instead of her lv1’s, i think the most practical one is to start the infinite loop first – at the very end of the combo, when the opponent is in knockdown, OTG with seismo, [sjc H thunder knuckle hit-feint, tiger knee H burn kick], repeat. at any point during your infinite loops, as the opponent falls from the burn kick, you can either go into lv3 right away or confirm it with the 1st hit of launcher then cancel into lv3. the latter is obviously much safer and solid.

ending the combo this way instead of using burst time gives me ~1,150k with no loops of the infinite which will kill she-hulk. the infinite loops will also give you the last sliver of meter if you’re barely not at 3 bars, so you don’t need to do entirely too many. if you did a bunch then you might not even need lv3 after all D;

also lulz for viper with seismo assist – more specifically, any team with viper / xxx / ammy: full bnb, and at the end, THC to OTG with burst time as okami shuffle goes on. when okami shuffle knocks them back to the ground, you can do another OTG O_o (seismo assist = THC becomes burst time, all others it becomes EC)

Viper’s level 3 has very few uses that Emergency combination doesn’t do better. EC + DHC will practically always net the same or greater damage than Full Throttle for less meter. :frowning:

it’s very true, unless you need the invul to start a cutscene effect (e.g. to punish hyper sentinel force or something), EC + DHC is much better. in terms of damage as well, there are many good DHC supers (i used to think there were very few) – i use doom 2nd so DHC to sphere flame is always fat damage. i should actually do the math on these vs using lv3, etc. post more info afterwards.

EC>DevilTrigger is pretty ridiculous too.

Also, we need a shortcut for Siesmos, like, we have TK=Thunder Knuckle, and BK = Burn Kick. I suggest SZ for seismos.

My new team is Viper/Dante/Ammy. Should I just figure out my own shit or does anyone else already use this team?

Most people prefer Dante or Ammy, but not both. Their assists are different but serve similar roles on a viper team, and Dante’s does more for her.

I played this team until i switched to viper/dante/mags a good month ago. I still think it’s a good team, i just have more fun playing mags than ammy.

I’d recommend to play weasel shot with dante, since you already have cold star for lockdown, like FlyingVe said. Weasel shot is pretty good for getting in and combo purposes, and it also locks down longer than most beams, so you can use it for trijump mixups. It only goes 3/4 screen though, which hurts her seismo game a bit… But other than that it’s a great team with decent assist support for viper and dante/ammy is also pretty nuts, especially with that damn sexy dhc glitch into vail of mist, tag dante back in and freestyle the opponent to death. ^^
