So Dr. Strange is pretty much replacing MODOK (among other things as well). Such a shame since not too many people really played as him.
I like how Dr.Strange somehow erase the fears of Fireband/Strider so fast and easy.
I can’t honestly see how this could be worse than Vanilla Phoenix, or worse than Dante.

First of all, SRK forgot to post this video of Dr. Strange gameplay on the front page. Take note of the setup / combo at 0:25 -
Dr Strange Sweetness
First, he puts out projectiles in the air that appear to stay there indefinitely.
Then when Dante comes in, he fires a downward projectile at him, while the stuff he placed in the air earlier shoots a beam at Dante from BEHIND.
And the beam from behind Dante frickin’ STUNS him. Strange then proceeds to go into a full combo, ending with a level 1 in the air (his “pillar” hyper), then X-factors in the air, then goes into fly mode, then teleports ABOVE him, then hits him with air S (which causes a hard knockdown), then teleports behind Dante and OTG’s with ANOTHER level 1 pillar. Then chips him out with his double-beam projectile.
So i wouldn’t say he’s “just another MODOK”. I’d say he’s more like Phoenix than anyone else (with the trap projectiles, flying, teleporting, etc.), with a touch of Dormammu (he has that other projectile that behaves just like Dark Hole. So overall, he’s a PhoemammuDOK
edit: also, what the hell is going on at 1:54? it looks like he puts out a bunch of those red balls, then he releases a fireball which follows the path of the red balls, like connect-the-dots

I was hoping Doctor Strange would get in as soon as I heard Dorm was in cuz now they can have epic battles or team up with each other. LOL. I would make a Strange/Dorm/Shuma team if I knew how to use Shuma at all I guess.

Dont get it twisted All of the new characters are on my Stranger Danger Radar but for different reasons and with different levels of oh shitness.
- Im most worried about strider because it seems he has EVERYTHING a tracking teleport hes super fast otg capable without assists fast screen controlling animals and satellites. Great mobility and both of his level 3’s are very very dangerous.
- Firebrand just because he looks like his attacks can hit High then low or low then high very easily allowing for easy as heck hit confirms. Plus hes also fast as crap.
- I think people are sleeping on HAWKEYE. thats all im gonna say until release about him.
- Dr strange would have been higher but I think hes going to actually take some skill to play well and lets be honest…
5.Nemesis…Im just scared of him. Period. - Ghost Rider, I hope im wrong but he seems to be the most underwhelming of the new characters. The Long range chain thing is only going to be effective until everyone knows all of his normals and their ranges. The only thing I think he really brings to the table is the chip damage normals. Thats gonna be sick for getting an annoying characters ass off the screen. Fa serious.
His Grace og Hoggoth most likely works like Mu’s Drive from BlazBlue. You can set hovering orbs all over the place, than fire a projectile that ricochets between all the orbs on the field.
By the looks of it, those yellow and red triangles appear to be Doctor Strange’s version of Dormmamu’s dark spells. It looks like if he wants, he either throws out a yellow or red triangle, and then I’m assuming after 3 triangles he shoots out a beam that does different things based on the triangles used and the order it goes through them…or if he wants he cud throw out the fireball early, prematurely ending the spell chain just like Dormammu.
Does he have any weaknesses? Bad health, low battery, anything!?
I’m not too worried about Ghost Rider’s chain is because, even though it looks scary at first, I doubt it will end up very effective in the long run, considering all of the mobility / teleports / etc. of the new characters. Plus, Ammy’s devout anal beads have similar properties and how often do you see people rocking those? Almost never.
Btw, I’ve watched all the Dr. Strange videos like 10 times each at this point, i can’t get enough ( this is still my favorite). So far I’ve counted at least 8 different projectiles he can put out (excluding hypers).
Some people are saying he appears to have low health. Cause in one of the vids Nemesis almost kills him in 1 combo. Then again, that could due to Nemesis dishing out crazy damage.

Mystic Sword looks just as fast as (if not faster) than EM Disruptor.
He can setup traps and they stay there OFF SCREEN.
Are you kidding me? Who said he was Phoenix with normal health? Try Dark Phoenix with normal health.

He doesn’t seem to have higher than 850k health but that’s fine. The lower your health the better you are in this game.
Looking like below average health, I don’t know if he has any ways of dealing with physical hypers either. And he doesn’t look like a great battery from most people’s posts so far. But it’s only trailers, they don’t show you the flaws of characters, only their assets. Well of course, thor’s trailer, when you look back on it, had nothign special in it lol.

Arthur has low health, wesker had well above average health.

Arthur will have the same health as Wesker by Ultimate (both around 900k).
Of course there’s a couple exceptions like Chun Li and Hsien Ko still probably being average at best but most of the top tiers point characters in Vanilla and in UMVC3 will consist of characters with no more than 900k health. The low healths have the cheap shit you gotta worry about.
And he seems to have 3 different versions of that big yellow ball (BYB):
