definitely man. characters like Strange that leave so many room for options when it comes to setups, combos, and mixups make MvC3 less of a mash fest for me and more of a creative man’s game. Impact Palm is definitely gonna be a staple move because it seems like you can do literally anything you want off a hit confirm c.L-- eye of agamotto setups, free combo, reset, tick throw, etc. hell, in theory you could probably Impact Palm then backdash and hard tag in one of your characters for an unscaled combo or whatever.
also test how impact palm works in the air please if you dont do one on the ground

Also, illusion is (in theory) the most insulting move in the game. “You were fighting a fake the whole time, I just deigned to finally start fighting you!”
If you could just find out whatever you can about Thor. As far as strange is concerned please see if illusion is as annoying as I think it will be and if spell of vishanti is actually a tracking super.

spell definitely tracks and hits OTG. Weaknesses are lowish damage and being really hard to DHC out of.
I wonder if Strange can XFC during a beam super or projectile and use the counter instantly, or would he just get hit during start up. That would be pretty gdlk if he couild.

how do you think Strange’s flight will be used? I know he can do that Phoenix instant overhead by going into flight then teleporting, but what else? doesn’t seem to be too useful in combos either since he has no airdash.
the bnb in his trailer had flight I think ground flight combos might be good

yeah I saw that. it’s probably gonna be the midscreen B&B everyone’s gonna learn to push opponents into the corner for Mystic Swords loop (hopefully).
I also find it funny that the loop is gonna be insanely easy to do since you can buffer the DP motion from the :f:+:h: Impact Palm input. so you’d essentially be doing :f:+:h: xx :d::df:+:h: for several reps lol.

If I remember the game rules right, you won’t be able to cancel impact palm into swords (no cancelling command normals into specials, right?), so it might be tricky to link after the first one. The air recovery on a second impact palm is pretty fast.

Impact Palm cause crumple. This makes this all pretty irrelevant, since they aren’t going anywhere while you Mystic Sword is they’re too busy falling lazily onto their knees. I would imagine you could even follow your two free Grace of Hoggoth with Mystic Swords H to be honest. BTW, is there some footage of this loop I missed as I’ve been reading the thread?

You only get one crumple then they’re off the ground, otherwise, easy infinite!
Well if you accidentaly hit with a second palm and knock them up just take the combo into the sky and go launcher into magic series or something, or just use the mass meter you built during that section of infinite to Spell of Vishanti.
I saw Seth do it midscreen to build some meter in a demo with Giantbomb. it was up on SRK last week I think, it had Noah bodying grown men with dat Hulk :h: lol. couple reps only though since it pushes the opponent back a good deal. Strange however does not move at all while performing the move and is able to link Impact Palm afterwards. frame advantage on hit + no pushback since you’re in the corner = corner loop.
I was thinking about it the other day and you could probably do: sesame street, Impact Palm xx red grace, red grace, Impact Palm xx faltine, Impact Palm xx faltine, Impact Palm xx H Swords, Impact Palm xx H Swords, etc. if I have my knowledge of the red graces right, they just explode and do a good deal of hitstun, so you could probably add more damage and preserve some hitstun before going into the multiple hit H Swords loop.
note: only CERTAIN command normals can be special cancelled. not all of them, like Doom’s hidden missiles. Impact Palm is kind of like Doom’s Hard Kick (also :f:+:h:) in that they’re both command normals and you can special cancel them.
