Not quite sure what it is. I imagine it just largely has to do with server itself, but some nights it seems that they are consistently shit. Not often, but sometimes, not a big deal on normal but on anything else and it becomes fairly rough.

I haven’t played the co-op since the first couple days, so it could be different between versus and co-op as well. But most of the versus Valve-servers are pretty solid for me.

Good semi games to HeaT and Dentron. I say “semi” because we were dropped every fucking game. Could maybe finish one or two maps before we were all kicked. Slide was right, something was definitely up tonight.

Valve’s Zombie Thriller Expanding In 2009

February 5, 2008 ? Valve, creators of best-selling game franchises (such as Half-Life, Portal, Team Fortress, and Counter-Strike) and leading technologies (such as Steam and Source), today announced a series of content and development releases for its latest title, 2008’s best-selling new game property for the PC and Xbox 360, Left 4 Dead (L4D).

The first L4D DLC ? dubbed the L4D Survival Pack – is due for release this spring and introduces a new multiplayer game mode entitled, Survival, plus two complete campaigns for Versus Mode . A Critic’s Choice Edition of the game will be heading to retail stores this spring, and will include access to all the content introduced in the L4D: Survival Pack.

In addition, for PC gamers and aspiring developers, the first Left 4 Dead release for the Source Software Development Kit (Source SDK) will allow the creation of custom Left 4 Dead campaigns that will be discoverable via L4D’s matchmaking system. The SDK update is also due for release this spring, and is free of charge to all owners of L4D on the PC.

Left 4 Dead is a survival action game from Valve that blends the social entertainment experience of multiplayer games such as Counter-Strike and Team Fortress with the dramatic, narrative experience made popular in single player action game classics such as the Half-Life series of games. Released in November of 2008, L4D has earned over 25 industry awards from outlets around the world.

I see what you guys are saying about the server issues. I hadn’t played for five days because I wasn’t in town, but the servers were pretty bad last night.

And that’s a bummer if they’re charging for updates.

Valve doesn’t charge for things like that…on the PC.

It’s highly likely 360 owners will have to pay up though.

Yeah, servers have been really bad for me.
Last time I was playing dead air, and I was lagging behind me team…my character freezes, and next thing I know I’m surrounded by a boomer, hunter, and horde.

That kinda scared me…

I hope that is the case…because the fact they announced a critic’s choice edition makes me worried.

I assume the PC DLC will be free, I can’t imagine they would try to charge for it especially given how they update TF2. The Critic’s version is probably just to entice people who have been waiting or crazy people who like buying multiple versions of shit.

Interested to see what this new Survival mode is especially because I would think the normal game counts as a survival mode anyways. I would have liked to see some new weapons like a flame thrower or something explosive to deal with tanks, but I can see how that would quickly become a problem given the friendly fire.
