I’m surprised they don’t place the bus driver in a separate compartment. In the UK a customer wouldn’t be able to spit on a bus driver or hit them for that matter as there’s some barrier separating the driver from the people on the bus. Maybe the employment rules are stricter in the UK because if a driver here was in his situation they’d sue their employer for failing to provide a safe working environment.
