How much damage does it do off flight HS st.M cr.H S into the same thing?
I’ll check and edit the results into this post in a couple of minutes.
EDIT: I figured out I can do j.HS>st.m>cr.h>S>2C1D>charge 1C>call skrull OTG assist>charge 2D>cr.H>S>TK 1C2D>OTG with Flame Carpet>Thor Mighty Spark Assist>Dark Matter> Dark Hole L since we are in the corner by now>Chaotic Flame, that does at most, I think, 1.14mil(highest I got) depending on how many meteors from 2C1D, ideally you have a ~50 hit combo by the time the Skrull assist hits. Net meter build is a 1 1/2 after using a hyper to end the combo.
This is without DHCs BTW, Dormington you BEAST!
Hmmm, I wonder if you could get j.M, j.H, j.S, st.M, cr.H, st.S --> jump-cancel 2D1C after Stone Smite if the combo is close to the corner but not in the corner. Since that assist guarantees a wall bounce and you didn’t use it up with Dark Matter a little distance might give you the time to get both red spells and still jump forward for the M confirmation. It ought to add 63,000 damage and push the meter build to almost 2.
I’ll see if I can add anything before the 2D1C besides just cr.H St. S.
EDIT: Not looking likely, they flip out fast after the Stone Smite if it’s not powerful moves.
Oh well, I suspected that one jump loop would have been too much for the HSD to handle. You found a really great combo though, hope to see in a tournament soon.
Well, I think more than a few Dormys know about this already, but midscreen ground throws are not that hard at all to convert off of with the right assists. In case anyone doesn’t know, I wanna put this here for reference, and so we can get a list going, maybe.
So, you can, right after a forward throw or back throw on the ground, you have just enough time to tridash up to them and lay a flame carpet, back throw gives you an instant longer to input it than forward throw. So, depending on the assists, you can combo off that rather nicely, each assist has a different timing, but you can call it anytime during that whole movement. I only have a few examples, but these all lead into jumploops and some really strong damage, saves the wallbounce too.
Taskmaster forward arrows: throw, while beginning the jump, call tasky, then dashdown and lay the carpet, dash into jump, j.MHS j.MHS st.M cr.H S, followups. Better than I thought, I discovered that it works today while bored in the lab.
Jaguar Dash: Totally the better assist for Dormy then the otg shot overall, this one’s an odd thing to time, but I believe it’s you press the assist while pressing the dash button (I play pad so that’s my trigger), flame carpet, tridash forward to catch them being launched back, and LHS jumploops, looks so very swag, not as good as the others, but you can also pickup with the other assist, if you can, then use this at the end of the combo with flame carpet for some great damage.
Quickwork: Easy as hell, flame carpet and this assist at the same time, profit, sometimes they fall a bit too low for the second jumploop, so delay the S in the first MHS and it should all go smooth.
Launcher Slam: Probly similar timing for other ground/wallbounce things, but this one, call assist during dash input. I think you can get three jumploops on this if your timing is really good, but don’t quote me on that, I forgot if it was this or another assist.
My teams are getting between 710 and 770k for one meter, depending on the assists, off midscreen groundthrow combos. It’s good stuff, and definitely I think this should be a bigger factor in choosing teams for Dormammu.
The variation that i do is very similar to how you would do Spencer’s OTG with missiles. You need to do the air combo delayed so you get the late knockdown with S, after you land, jump up-forward with Dorm while calling missiles. If you timed it right the char will otg, you follow the combo with cr.H, Launcher, M, H, S with a slight delay because the missiles hit weird. You can also M teleport and call Doom which would make it easier, but i don’t like the teleport setup because it brings the opponent out of the corner.
Hey guys I was wondering how Nemesis and dorm ammy work together. So far I like dark hole assist. I’m using Nemmy on point and probably dorm as my anchor. Oh and I love using lesser-used characters. I was wondering if you guys can give me some suggestions?
I play Nemesis/Dorm, and usually someone who can use Dark Hole really well, someone who has a good DHC from Nemmy would work on second with Dorm anchor. Spencer, Taskmaster, Mags for the TAC infinite.
As for Ammy, I’m not sure about her second, never played her with assists, but I guess Dark Hole would be good for locking down during a disc fH string on block, then go into instant overheads or something, I could see that working.
With Dorm second, which is preferred for me, a broken assist for one/both of them works on the back. Once again Taskmaster’s okay, so’s Sentinel, but Mags and Strange work very well here, mostly because you can range with Nemesis and Rushdown with Dormammu. As with all things, missiles works too, quite well, just Doom’s boring, to me anyway. Arthur anchor would give them both a good assist, and he’s both a decent anchor and an uncommon character.
Nemesis/Dorm is good, so long as they both have access to a good assist, because Dark Hole isn’t entirely useful for Nemmy, except for making his strings safe on block, as most times they are horribly unsafe. But the DHCs, TACs, and THCs are solid.
Hope any of that helped.
This helped soo much!! I’m going to try out Arthur! Exactly what I was looking for.
I need to utilize the Dorm forums more often, I play X23/Dorm/Rocket.
Anybody else play Dorm with Log? It doesn’t sound too idea but one day I was lurking the tier thread and some people agree that it’s actually a favorable to him. I think log adds another dimension to his already fucked up mind games (I play a spacing-type Dorm instead of going full HAM) and he can follow up hits off log by tridashing. When I point Dorm I can get ToDs but I’m thinking about a team with Dorm/Wesker/Rocket, maybe rocket with spitfire or something. I’ll check out the latest combos and see if there is anything I can add to my game.
Anyone know, off hand, which non otg assists can allow dorm a midscreen relaunch from a carpet after an MMHS? Disruptor dorm is what I want to be doing, and have been with wesk dorm mag, but don’t feel like wesker is my strongest point, and midscreen I have zero confidence in my ability to do the fwd+H xx teleport combos. Lol so any character who can let me scrub it out with MMHS but tac on additional damage is my buddy.
Bonus points if its morrigan, but I tried soul fist assist (underrated btw) and seems much too slow for this. Jam session maybe?
Jam Session works.
Storm Whirlwind works.
Tons of assists work (most of them to be really honest), but you may have to call as early as you can while you delay the Flame Carpet to get everything to connect. I would be extremely surprised if Soul Fist assist actually just did not work at all; try adjusting your timing.
Switch Wesker to Jaguar Dash/Kick assist, do a basic launch > MMHS > land call Wesker + tridash forward > Flame Carpet OTG (Wesker hits here, hit is untechable) into whatever…
Depending on where you are on screen you can either tridash forward again as the assist is hitting and relaunch or chuck out a Dark Matter if you still have a wallbounce available. The only difficulty is getting used to calling the Wesker assist and immediately perform the tridash the frame you touch the ground (it’s not too strict, but it’s pretty tight in timing). You can also end the combo off this with Dark Hole > Chaotic Flame (or Stalking Flare in the corner). I personally hate Wesker on Samurai Edge assist with Dorm.
Do these work via empty tri-dash? A buddy (DukeofFortuneMan) advised for Nemesis you can tridash and call assist on the way down to accomplish the re-launch, and posited Soul Fist might work if called on the way up a la Task arrows. I reeeeally hope that does work. Soul Fist is remarkably slow, though underrated overall imo.
(how would whirlwind work midscreen, doesn’t it push them way the hell away?)
While I very much appreciate that, really the idea was to get away from Wesker. lol I wasn’t asking the question due to not liking the gunshot specifically, but due to wanting to replace Albert.
Someone told me they think on a landed disruptor + M teleport, dorm can actually go into some jump loops and stuff. Can anyone confirm this or, even better, know a good sequence from that confirm?
Lately all I’m playin is xxx dorm mag, with morri as my ideal point (hence the inquiry about soul fist above). But it may be time to upgrade my combo from MMHS anyway -shrug-
If you’re near the corner you can try j.H, st.L, cr.M, st.H, Dark Matter xx Teleport L, j.MHSMHS, st.M, cr.H, st.S, j.MMHS, Purification xx Chaotic Flame. In the middle of the screen just do a modified version of regular jump loops.
Any idea what that modified version is (or at least the start of it)? I found that Soul Fist assist definitely can not give Dorm a relaunch (which is prob for the best since Harmonizer is so much better anyway). I just always played this shell (xxx Dorm Mag) with Wesker so I’m used to having a scrubby MMHS MMHS for big damage. It might be time to grow up. lol
Though a friend did suggest it might be sufficient to just do a basic MMHS into pillar xx STalking Flare xx DHC Astral and make up the lost damage via the Flare and Soul Fist chip. Should would probably be better to do big boy Dorm combos. I just remember reading in the brady guide that they require different teleports depending on different screen positions and am not sure how those all work.
cr.MH S+ Call Morrigan MMH delay S, land s.S MMHS, midscreen easyeasy combo with soul fist.
For corner, you have the good Dorm solo combo, three jumploops and just pop harmonizer sometime in the middle, or (with soul fist)
cr.L st.H fH charge L, st.M st.H+Soul Fist fH Charge L, S, MMH slight delay S, charge L, BOOM, fH dark hole Chaotic Flame. Does 20-30k more than the standard.
I’d go for Harmonizer under most circumstances, though, escpecially on Dorm teams.

Yeah I’d muuuuch prefer Harmonizer, only reason Id even entertain Soul Fist assist is for a potential relaunch. It looks like your combo proposes to actually have them land on the soul fist after launch sequence, qhich is brilliant actually. The only problem I see is more than half my Dorm combos will start from a Disruptor crossup, and I very much doubt my assists would be cooled down enough that I could call one with that initial S.
I’ll def mess with that idea, but I’m starting to think it may be time to dabble in big-boy Dorm combos lol Though I suck ass at getting those fwd+H xx teleport sequences to work.
(side note for you specifically: the Nemesis relaunch worked like a charm)
