Thanks, yeah. I did get this one working in the corner except it has the interesting issue of after the relaunch, the carpet is still there and they get hit by it when they land, negating the ability to OTG liberation. That migh be something Im doing wrong, but for that nova assist you have to delay the carpet since the assist is slow, so not sure if it’s avoidable? And then with hawk arrows I have to do the carpet fast but still got the same thing.
Midscreen I guess I’ll just have to combo the assist into CHaotic Flame w/ no relaunch.
For the carpet problem you just have to make sure it stays out long enough to disappear on its own, or just figure out a timing which allows all of its hits to be used up. Usually if you do a HS relaunch and then MMHS you give it enough time to disappear, but it depends on the assists I guess. I’ve only had that problem so far with Spencer and Phoenix, and that’s the solution I came up with.
Edit: For midscreen it might be worth seeing if you can get an OTG flame carpet + assist into Dark Hole xx Chaotic Flame just for the extra damage. Or maybe you could get a Dark Matter xx Teleport for a continuation depending on how the assist manipulates them?
I’m trying similar combos but with the Wesker assist. I too have similar problems with the flame carpet lasting for about another hit after air S. Would it be better to go into flight after flame carpet/Wesker assist and do air M, H, S, and then purification to Chaotic flame?
Yea, you don’t use flame carpet with an OTG assist. However if you use the Wesker assist first you can do the MastaCJ flight combo and flame carpet + horizontal assist into Chaotic Flame for a little extra damage. That’s really the best you can do midscreen. But, if you have both Wesker and a horizontal assist there’s a more damaging corner combo.

The * detonates you can sometimes add another s.H before the s.S here, depending on the hitstun of the assist. The timing on the wesker assist, and dark matter into dark hole is kind of tricky, you want to call wesker right before you hit the ground and wait a second to throw the dark matter so that it catches them right after the gunshot and then they fall into the canceled dark hole.)
Thank you, this combo works great. I used to have Doom with Hidden Missile assist but using Plasma Beam assist does work better especially for teleport mix-ups. I just started using Dorm after dropping Nova and this thread has already made me a better Dorm user.
Well it seems like you and I run the same team. Dorm(Dark Hole)/Doom(Plasma)/Wesker(Samurai Edge). I’ve got a few tips you might find useful for DHCs and such. One trick with the combo I posted above(or any corner combo really), is if you DHC into sphere flame from chaotic flame you want to do it in the last couple of hits, but before it ends. Once they fly up the sphere flame doesn’t hit for full damage, but if you do it with a hit or two left, you can hit about 1.06mil damage. Also, you can DHC from Wesker’s phantom dance into stalking flare if you do it on the few last hits, giving you time to charge up a full dark spell. Here’s a nasty combo with 2D1C in the corner.
j.S s.M s.H f.H * 2D1C call doom flame carpet j.M j.M j.H j.S call wesker f.H dark hole L chaotic flame (The dark spell by itself builds almost a full meter, so the combo pays for itself. The * detonates you can X factor here in any level and have a kill combo. In XF2 or above you don’t even need a chaotic flame, you can just go otg with wesker or flame carpet + horizontal j.M j.M j.H j.S purification L.)

Is there any kind of trick or timing queue to, upon TAC to Dorm, be able to hit a jL after a jH xx Fly? Every time I fly, I’m unable to hit a normal to continue combo. I can do Sent/Nova/whoever Fly combos easily, so I feel like there’s definitely some timing or spacing motif I’m unable to figure out. Any ideas? TAC to Dorm is important to my strategy, and I really want to do better than MMHS, even if just for the meter. Thanks!
His fly has tonnes of start up before you can act. It’s like 30 frames or something silly like that. Sounds like what you’re trying might not work after the TAC. I thought the usual TAC was to TAC > Fly > Air dash DF H xx Dark Hole L etc?
I honestly had no idea what it was, and asked in the threads and no one answered. But in the Ryan Hunter video it looked as if he was starting with a jH xx Fly. <shrug> Id very much like to know the actual sequence.

Out of the three, I find 2 easiest to do and it does more damage and builds more meter than 1. Maybe I should do j.:h:, Fly, j.:l:, j.:h:,:l: Dark Hole , j., j.:h:, :l: Dark Hole , j.:s:. Just get used to the timing after going into flight mode.
Thanks! Ill work on it, but in 2 hours I wasnt able to hit a normal after a jH xx Fly, like, once. And my execution is weak, but not THAT weak. So I’m wondering if there’s some timing or spacing motif I’m screwing up, such as doing the jH immediately, or letting Dorm fly into them a little before starting, etc. tried all kinds of different ways. Weird.
Finally got some training mode time again and tried to practice TAC combo 2 on that list. I got it to work a few times, meaning it def works, but shit man… I just can’t seem to figure out a timing on the initial jH xx Fly that lets me connect a jL afterwards! It’s less about being too slow or fast after the xx Fly, but more about where Dorm and the opponent are positioned when I start the sequence. Is there ANYONE who can do ANY of these consistently that could describe how?? I’m desperate! lol
Basically my 2 meter Nova to Dorm TAC BNB does 950k with a TAC-to-Dorm sequence of jMHS, so the idea is doing a better juggle could push it over a mil, and more importantly, allow the whole combo to build one meter so the it pays for half of itself on any tag direction. I’m having-any-money away from offering cash prizes to anyone who can get me doing it consistently! Hehe I still might anyway, that’s how desperate I am lol

The first j. after the TAC lifts them up and positions them perfectly to allow the rest of the combo to work 100%
The HSD makes it so that the Purification won’t combo into itself so you need to time the Chaotic Flame cancel extremely well depending on how long your combo has gone on. I’m not even sure if it’s possible to combo it full screen. : \ [Edit: It is possible after all ]
To get the second Dark Hole the timing is tight because you run out of flight mode so you have to really cancel quickly, like, before the last j.:h: hits. Or you can skip the last j. before it.
With this I can kill Thor for 2 bars lol. I’m giddy

One question, though, if you see this before I start training on it… does this work the same for all TAC directions? Also curious based on your enthusiasm, what team are you playing that this is so good for you? For me it’s full Nova BNB to TAC Dorm into Purif xx Chaotic xx Nova Force. POW! lol
The TACs work in any direction, but after a long ass combo the down exchange ends up doing more damage than the up exchange.
My team is Wolverine/Dormammu/Iron Fist, and I’m currently piecing together a video of how this TAC works with my team, which I’ll post soon I hope instead of trying to describe the long as combo/situational factors involved lol.
Edit: You’re okay doing 2 Dark Holes provided that after the first one you press the M while the Dark Hole is still going, because you recover before it finishes its hits.
Good to see other Dormammu/Doom/Wesker team users! The trio just have so many tools and compliment each other very well. That’s also a nice corner combo I have to try now, NikeAir, along with the first one you just posted.
Played around with x-factor canceling st. H and going into jump loops. With level 1 does a bit over a million, level 2 kills the entire cast, and level 3 kills the entire cast without needing the super. All of them are meter positive, too.
