Bullied kid murders bully; courts let him walk

Killing Nuno was Jorge’s only chance. If Nuno had survived he definitely would have gotten “revenge” and soon Jorge would be dead. Now that he’s dead Nuno’s “friends” certainly won’t avenge him. Jorge now has all the respect (and by some even admiration) he never had before.

Sucks that the bully had to die. Kids do stupid shit all the time.
But in the end, I really don’t even feel bad for him. Or his family. Learn to raise your kid so he doesn’t bully someone to the point gutting you with a knife.

I don’t even know what to say about the victim. It was obviously wrong to kill the bully, and I don’t even know if he MEANT to kill the bully. But he pretty much did everything he could do to avoid this guy and still couldn’t get away from him.

So you’re saying he got the juice now? … naw man… he don’t want it.

Such a terrible end for both families, but there is a silver lining that comes out of this, and that is it’s about time families and society start becoming more involved in the lives of young, impressionable people and not misguiding them, leading them to raise themselves without sound direction. Whether it is your opinion or not that Jorge should have some sort of punishment for killing Nuno is beside this very simple point:

“You don’t start nuthin, won’t be nuthin.” Nuno wouldn’t have even put himself in a position to killed had he’d not bullied to begin with. That much cannot be refuted, even if you do believe Jorge was guilty(which I don’t how anyone in their right mind can conceivably come to that conclusion).

Even though it’s not practically possible to avoid all possible scenarios like this or similar before they occur, a lot can be done to bring situations like this down drastically, perhaps even next to zero. Both sides parents were failures in this whole ordeal. They, and the corrupt law enforcement and school staff are the ultimate ones to blame for failure to intervene in this matter, and/or guide these kids on the right path. It’s time to put all the B.S. politically correct ideologies aside and focus on guiding and protecting these young minds on the come up. Please don’t mistake this as me saying that people aren’t responsible for their own actions.

Also, I’ve seen quite a bit this talk about how killing is never the answer and/or killing is never justified, and even further that killing is murder. We need to sort out the context of what killing/murder is before we say such thing. There’s murder defined as such in a LEGAL context, then there’s murder in a MORAL context. Killing is simply the active taking of life of another living entity. Now, murder in a legal context is the unlawful taking of another person’s life. Murder in a moral context is the immoral taking of another person’s life. Clearly, there are instances where killing sometimes is the only answer, and is very justifiable. Some laws may consider the justifiable taking of life murder under their laws, when there’s actually moral justification for such. Murder in a legal context doesn’t always make sense. Killing isn’t necessarily the same as murdering because murdering is the unjust taking of life, morally speaking.

Point? It’s silly to say that killing is never justified and that it’s silly to think that the law stating justifiable killing is murder make it so. Only under the law is it murder, but morally speaking, it isn’t. Which brings me to my conclusion:

Jorge is not a murderer whatsoever, and saying he’s a killer doesn’t make him one. Killing one person out of self-defense doesn’t necessarily make you a “killer” anyway. Being called a “killer” has negative connotations. A murder is usually called a killer, not someone who did so out of genuine self-defense. Given the grave circumstances that Jorge faced and given his young age, looking at this from a hindsight perspective is nothing but pure fantasy in the real world. 'Nuff said.

RIP Amanda Cummings, yet another victim of bullying (though it could have also been over a breakup?). She jumped in front of a bus :frowning:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2083504/Amanda-Cummings-suicide-Hate-messages-Facebook-tribute-page.html

Mad people turned against her yo, why didn’t she do the right thing and stab?

What exactly about Amanda had people go ape shit on her?

That’s fucking selfish.

People might have been late for work because of her. Couldn’t she kill herself in a way that’s less inconvenient for others?

Must’ve been a Japanophile?

Sorry, that sounded a little harsh even to me. Just reminded me of the trend of jumping in front of trains in Japan a while back.

Anyway, this is horrible. How long is it going to take for not only the schools to wake up, but the social media sites? This is getting to be too much, and the reason the schools won’t take a stand over these problems is they’re saying it’s happening off of school grounds (Read: Facebook/Twitter/Youtube).

Facebook hasn’t stopped the problem, neither has any other site, which is why the problem has been going on for at least two years uninhibited.

There needs to be IP bans/traces and police reports done for this kind of BS. Instead the only time the authorities are on alert on social networking sites is when a 13-year-old says “I hope Obama isn’t lax after killing bin Laden, or else the retribution could come swift,” because apparently 13-year-old American Al Qaeda members are commonplace and so stupid as to post their plans to a public site.

Fuck yeah, we need to have the police and military busting down your door every time you say something bad about someone over the internet!!!

Shit ya’ll better be careful that you don’t hurt someones feelings or else you might get stabbed or sent to Guantanamo Bay. Which of course is what you deserve you inhuman scum that deserves to be beaten, raped, and sodomized.

Wow, I didn’t realize my post came equipped with a diving board into the deep end.

Did I say the police and military and feds should be monitoring the interwebs 24/7 and going SWAT/Special Forces every time something bad is said about someone on the internet? If you respond with an affirmative, then I will politely ask you to tighten your tinfoil hat until it cuts off circulation to your brain.

What I meant was, when this crap is reported to the proper sites, there needs to be more done than just deleting the offensive post or deleting the offending account, because it’s easy as crap to repeat the actions and create new accounts to harass the victim. What I’m meaning depending on the severity of the content reported to the site, there should be cooperation and intervention with the local authorities, not the military, conspiracy nut.

OH so what you saying is that we should like send children just to regular jail for typing that facebook stuff right dawg?

Man I had it all backwards what was I thinking homie!!

This is one of those times when the slippery slope argument is actually valid.

You can’t trust governments or police with that kind of power. The internet is just about the only place left where people have free speech, and some people will jump at the opportunity to take that freedom away.

Honestly, I hadn’t made up my mind on the story before reading it.

I fucking hate bullies, but I feel that they need to receive a beating, not death.

And there are definitely instances where the victim killing his bully would be wrong. For instance, if, without being provoked, the former victim had taken a gun and calmly walked up behind the bully and shot him in the head. That would deserve definite jail time.

However, after reading the article, I believe the judge made the correct ruling in a very difficult case. It seems like the victim was being relentlessly tortured and terrorized over a period of several months, while doing his hardest to avoid his tormenter.

He was probably scared, and rather than getting a gun, took a knife as self-defense. The bully was 2 years older than the victim, and I’m guessing much bigger and stronger. Even after getting off the bus early, this bully followed and punched him in the back of the head. A cowardly and vicious assault if there ever was one.

Feeling out of options, the kid stabbed him in what I assume was a desperate, hysterical rage.

Again, I would rather have seen the victim beat the shit out of his bully with his fists, instead of killing him. However, what he did doesn’t deserve a conviction, either. He was tortured over a long period of time, and finally lashed out in self-defense.

Maybe it will give a few other bullies something to think about.

Just look at the race to make every pun available on every fucked up news thread here, she was unlucky enough to have an easy name to do it with. (And there were probably some of the people harrassing her irl doing a lot of it)

So a 16 year old athletic one (practicing MA) with 2 buddies died trying to bully a lone 14 year old ?

If this is not the “Epic Fail” of the decade, I don’t know what it is.

2012 is starting off strong.

There should be some sort of hotline that kids can call whenever they feel like committing suicide. Like a direct line to some kid in Sierra Leone or Angola that can talk to them about how much life is worth living even if all your limbs have been hacked off, you know a pep talk or something to cheer up their down trodden spirits.

In the words of Nelson Muntz…

Bullies rule!!
