School actually does breed these nuno characters on purpose. And the enabling factor is how they treat fighting all through highschool. Zero tolerance. and it appeases parents and adult figures because they think since there is a zero tolerance that bullying cant or won’t happen, but bullying is 95% psychological/social. Bullying isnt like how its portrayed in the simpsons or saved by the bell. On TV it is overtly physical and done by people who are overtly “dumb” ie nelson and who actually are portayed to be the loner or outsider. (bart is also an outsider of sorts to confuse things)
But in reality, the dumb and badly dressed kids such as nelson are the ones that aren’t confident and would likely not be treating bart badly. It is the alphas who would be picking on nelson for being ugly/stupid. But since TV flips the script or dumbs down what bullying is, the awareness is skewed and allows for more confidence in a zero tolerance policy for violence than the policy should be givin. Zero Tolerance for violence enables bullying because alphas as the years go on get more adept at psychological harassment because their environment will punish those who meet their psychological torment with anything physical, and there will be attempted backlash on the victim.
You show to the adult world you are the type of person who gets frustrated when outwitted and resorts to violence you are basically asking the world to try to medicate you, which is another type of enslavement. If you are duped into this, now you are being enslaved corporately by a group of adults who probably in their youth, were behaving in similiar ways to the bullies who made you have the outburst to make you go on the meds.

Actually saw someone get felled by one punch to the back of the head and end up seriously injured (and needing life support) on a night out in the north of England years ago. Brawling in the streets is part of the lager lout “culture” here, and something you always have to be aware of during a night on the ale.
A local man who’d grown out of causing trouble and wanted to keep the peace ended up getting glassed on NYE here, by some absolute little nobody, an ex-proper criminal had to deal with some coked up little boy. Ten years ago he would have knee-capped him, here in rural England…but instead this little no-mark gets one on him because he gave him a chance to walk away.
Another friend of a friend wasn’t so lucky and got jumped after a Christmas night and hit the pavement, concrete to the head…dead, doesn’t matter how much of a hard man you are. Someone catches you off guard when all you want to do is sleep off the drink or go home with the ladyfriend, and that can be it.
How was someone cracking someone in the back of the head not intent to cause serious injury, especially due to the risk of crashing to the floor and smacking your head on the pavement which these thugs should know is very likely to happen when you connect properly?
It could easily have been one charged with manslaughter at least, and another two as accessories.
The worst thing is it doesn’t matter if you’re not that sort anyway, only takes one random to lash out at you in the taxi rank and you crack your skull on the pavement.
Anyone lashing out at you in the street is intending you serious damage and they know it. Thankfully there’s some common sense occuring now and people standing up for themselves are getting punishments they deserve for reacting to unprovoked attempts to cause grevious injury at the least.

If it’s any consolation to the Nuno family, is that Dylan’s death could prove to be a prime example that you should treat all human beings with respect, no matter how different, socially awkward, etc. they are, as well as have a touch of modesty in you, because you never know what acting like douche will bring you.
Some people are meant to be examples to look and learn upon so that incidents like this will hopefully never happen again in things will change for the better in the future, and Dylan is exactly that.

So it’s perfectly okay for the kid to get off free? I don’t know. I certainly do think the kid was defending himself which ultimately lead to a death. I’m too lazy to read the article, but I hope SOMETHING was done. Mandatory sessions with a psychologist at least. Not necessarily as punishment, but to assess the kid and make sure he knows that picking up a knife should not be the first alternative.
