What do you mean? You’re laptop can’t handle editing/compressing the vid or you can’t just capture a raw file (.avi/mpeg) at all? If you can get a raw file, I help compress/edit but if your laptop just can’t capture anything then ignore my offer heh.

Real tier lists should be based off ranking battles, not 1 guy’s conjectures, even if he knows his stuff.

Thats true, however with a game like Budokai there is no tourny scene, or online play. Considering the audience of the game as well, this is the most reliable we can get.
From what I hear nnamz does have a group he plays with, so im sure as more matchups etc take place the list will shuffle
If the game happened to have a tourney scene the top tier would be the super saiyans and then everyone else for themselves. You do have to consider the audience this game was designed for and how they would play it. The strategy guides for the games should let you know that only a handful of ppl play this game to get better at it instead of waiting for a lightshow since all three of em were just big capsule lists and mention nothing about cancel, stun or juggle combos.
thats what i thought until i actually played the game, but that is false because as you said super saiyans are top tier well look at piccolo hes not a super saiyan at all and hes top as well cell and kid buu. also for the guide comment, thats probably because hardly anybody takes budokai 3 seriously as a good fighting game with better fighting engines than SC:2 and MK:D (of course). so there you have it.
Sprawlers, Kujila an Nzamz should have made guide to this game, not those morons at Prima. All Prima did was tell you the special moves, which any idiot can find just by bringing up the skill list. They lsited no chains, cancels or anything. I pitty anyone who wasted $14.99 on that crap. :tdown:

Thats not the context i was going for. I just said that considering the audience that this game was mae for, a tier list based on who picked who, you’d end up with all the super saiyans at the top of the foodchain and everyone else below. In this game, most people equate a popular char eing good instead of being popular because they are good characte to use in most matchups. Ranking lists are useless when only a handful of people know that >PPKKE isnt the longest combo you can make. And yes… MK:D is as far from good as I am from the surface of the Moon.
yea i know what you mean because i was versing my cousin and he watches DBZ so off the bat he chose goku claiming he was the best but ends up i beat him…badly. also good MK:D comment

Anyway, reading Sprawlers predictions about the top tier (Omega Shenron, Kid Buu) was kind of funny, because at the time he posted that, Nnamz was telling me about how disappointed he was in Omega Shenron’s ability to combo - basically, his seven baseline ki is all he’s got to go by. He can do a lot of damage but can’t pull it off easily because despite his size he actually has a completely average range.
Kid Buu, well, >P is his only starter, the range isn’t bad but it’s nothing to dance at, but he does a lot of damage. Problem is that juggling is NOT his strong point. He’ll have trouble against combo resistant characters.
I doubt Sprawlers and Goryus will agree with the tier list though.
Gero is basically Budokai 2 Vegeta, according to Nnamz. Same combo platform, same style of playing. Besides, I suspect you haven’t played him enough to find out if he’s good or bad, because nobody plays as Gero. Now, if he was the awesome #19…
It’s pretty obvious Uub and Kid Gohan were going to fail from the start. Uub’s inability to teleport properly overrides his decent combo platform, and Kid Gohan’s got low range, low damage, he pretty much has his work cut out for him.
Now, Nappa - there’s a sad story…

I get what your saying, but if this were true then games like 3S would have Ryu and Ken as Top Tiers (being that the fans wanted them in the game and all). Tho, Ken IS top tier…
Ken is top tier because hes GOOD. He just happens to be a fan favorite as well. Just like in B3 Goku is GOOD compared to most of the cast and happens to be the fan favorite as well. Ken and Ryu they were fan favorites because they were pretty accesscible (I.E. didnt have any moves governed by charge time, no 360’s, no rapid button presses no extendo arms just plain solid and simple to execute moves) and happened to be decent characters to play as in their game. As far as the game goes theres nothing in them (other than their accessiblity and playability) thats really compelling to make you want to be these people more than any other characters in SF Games.
Also look at B3 … There are guys in the upper tiers that fans couldnt care less about like Dr.Gero/#20. But would the average B3 player find that out since he/she more than likely a fan of the show and just wants to see his/her favorite character? Probably not unless it happens to be Dr.Gero.
maybe we should post in fanfare forums like DBZgameinfo.com to actually get into the game or maybe possibly show them Goryus’ two B3 vids.
