I’m particularly lost on the pants. I just scaled down a render and put it behind a black outline for now. If anyone has any tips for doing snake skin pants, I’m definitely looking for suggestions. =p
Use layers. It’s the most sensible way to handle moderately complex patterns on a shaded surface. If your program of choice does not support layers, then use whatever feature is the most similar or allows easy recoloring. For example, MSPaint has its own trick for this kind of stuff.
