I’m not too bummed since her airdash is still cancelable.
It’s a shame though, the backwards airdash would’ve helped her zoning with the Rosary… But I guess Ammy can’t do EVERYTHING, lol

I know it goes left, right, and down forward. I definitely couldnt go up. Didnt really try the other diagonals though. Ill test this today for confirmation.

No not really. Her qcf+l/m/h dash attack can only go UF,F, or D. She can never go backwards with it. It’s going to potentially be very hard to run away from your opponent if you have a lot of screen real estate behind you(pushblock will probably help). Not having an 8-way dash makes it feel like Capcom wants Amaterasu to be advancing towards her opponent rather than running away from her opponent.
EDIT: also, she can’t really “cancel” her f,f airdash. She can press any attack button when she goes into this airdash and it will stop any forward momentum which makes it look like the dash was canceled. She’s still coming out of the airdash with an attack though. Most of the other characters can do this, although they maintain their initial momentum from their airdash.
her getting her 8wd taken away is complete bullshit. shes an 800 hp character, if they were going to reduce her mobility and make it so that its only forward based, they should have upped her hp to 900… which i doubt they did. once again capcom nerfing characters for little reason and not balancing those nerfs.
not happy. was planning on using her keepaway ability on certain teams.
gilley if you read this, whats her offense like?? i mean does she have a good quick overhead thats comboable? a + on block or small recovery dashin move? a move that crosses up like caps cartwheel or hsienkos dash? just trying to see what ways she has to break down excessive blocking. also does she have any direct ways of getting in like some sort of teleport or whatever… i’m kind of “scared” of being rushdown with such low hp and none of those things available.

Is she like Megaman Volnutt from TvC? Can you make her moves more safe by utilizing a weapon change, or is it more like you change to meet the situation or complete the combo.

Shit it’s so funny they pretty much said "bitch go attack’ wtf…It takes away being able to create off the fly…I just played this game last week and they changed her that fast lol…Her health is too fucking low to be forcing her to just attack attack attack etc etc…I need to test this shit outt…please tell me they gave her something new, in return? I haven’t quite figured out her offense yet. There’s just soooo much that she can do and I’ve only had a few hours to play with her.

1.jumping L attack if you’re right up on your opponent will hit crouching opponents.
2.in sword stance, in the air, qcf+S hits overhead. You can tiger knee this move to make it somewhat fast
small recovery dashin moves…
1.her standing M attack is safe on block and she can do it from almost 1/2 screen away
2.in sword stance, qcf+L dashes in from about 1/2 screen and is safe on block
crossups…
sword stance, jumping H attack is a godlike crossup.

I’m not quite sure yet. Her airdash does go full screen, that might be one way of getting in.
Lol okay, maybe I am overreacting. The fact still remains they nerfed/took away yet other option from her. IMO they are forcing you to play one kind of style. I just played the game not too long, which was last thursday and I was winning with the very thing they took away…IMO it seems stupid to keep changing, and changing a “character” to the point that it’s not even the “same” character anymore. I still will be using her. It just seems silly to me that they would take away her 8 way vine dash, when it’s her only way to get away.

More random testing, this time with the slowdown super…
I wanted to see if the slowdown super would actually slowdown your opponents hitstun so that I could do longer combos that I normally couldn’t do(due to histun scaling). So I do a combo where I know hitstun scaling kicks in bad. On Hulk…
j.l > j.h > s.l > s.h > j.l > j.h > j.h > j.h > s.l > s.h
the last s.h doesn’t combo after the s.l due to hitstun scaling. So I activated the slowdown super and tested it again. Hulk could still block between those last two hits.
Doesn’t look like the slowdown super slows down hitstun. This is strange and makes me wonder why she doesn’t build any super meter while it’s active.

Hmm, so is the Mist super only for slowing movement? Does it allow for any new links before hitstun scaling comes into great effect, like after a small-ish 4-hit combo?
Her j. B instant overheads almost everyone. Only one it hasn’t worked on is herself and pheonix that i’ve tested. Instant overhead with an assist on them into delay j.C combo is an EASY 70%.
