Brushstr0kes 101: The Amaterasu Thread Mach II

Nice looking forward to your write up and hopefully some footage.

Is Ammy’s meter-building assist as good as Morrigan’s in terms of speed and percentage of meter built? I know everyone uses her Cold Star assist, but I’m curious. I can’t recall seeing anyone use it. Also, it was said she doesn’t build meter while Mist hyper is active. What happens if I switch her out during it and use her meter build assist?

I think it builds about 30% of meter. I don’t suggest switching after her Mist super, by the time you can control your tag-in the super will have practically worn off already.

i was referring to DHCing INTO mist. so one character would combo -> super -> switch ammy in with mist. go for reset.

I was responding to the guy above me, but if it means anything, I think your idea is fantastic. I plan on doing exactly that with Zero’s Rekkoha into Ammy’s Mist.

dope! my bad good sir. i think u are right tho, switching into a character might take too long. i wonder if the mist timer counts during another hyper animations. for instance if u mist DHC hyper, if the mist will be practically over when that hyper ends.

i agree completely with what you say here, except she looks pretty easy to use…
i was just pressing random buttons and hitting people with all kinds of weird stuff. her only weakness seems to be the low hp imho, she does really good damage. she was the strongest character on my team of arthur, ammy, dante.

and OH MY GOD! her movement is so misleading… dog be jumping all over the place doing all kinds of crazy airdash feints and weird double jump stuff. shes a ridiculously sweet character. by far my favorite so far.

Hey bro I think we mean the same thing lol…she is very misleading she has tools for any and everything in the game a character can throw at her. There is no question that they put a lot of time into her. The only person that comes close is Dante, in terms of overall moves that are completely different from each other. I can’t wait to get my hands on her more. I plan on going straight to training mode trying to master one weapon at a time etc etc… she has been my favorite bitch before you bro, back off ! lol

What weapon was you using the most with her?

^^^ what! hey now ive been all over that “bitch” since day one! i just think shes just like seth said: her and dante are easy to pick up, hard to master, which makes them the perfect characters.

i was using the default weapon. no time to try and learn the others, when i dont even know the default one.
i hope to use more of her long range one when i get the game though, it will synergize with my team better… i plan on going all keepaway/lame at first and then slowly learn her and dantes rushdown, will make me better all around with them, and i like both rushdown and lame zoning strategies… i just dont like characters that are forced into one or the other style.

Is it just me or is Ammy’s meter building assist a lot more vulnerable than Morrigan’s? She seems to stay out for way too long.

check out the loop ammy does on hulk around 3 16. pretty dope. also decent ammy play here throughout the run through

about time a video of the loop resurfaced

looks sick as fuck looks like it gonna be super easy on sent

Wow looking good. That’s the team I’m considering but not that order. Might replace Zero, but Chun/Ammy for sure.

What are people’s thoughts about Ammy’s cold star assist versus bloom assist? Are meter building assists ever worth it or sorta garbage? It seems like extra meter could be useful for some teams but giving up a unique way of controlling space for a little extra meter (when any team can build the normal way anyway) seems like a poor decision. What do you all think?

in Marvel 2, enhance/Life-up assists are pretty garbage, stick with the Cold Star assist.

But this ain’t marvel 2 bro, with the lack of normal whiffing to build meter, meter building assists might turn out useful. Of course only time will tell.

Stop trollin lol

I wouldnt give up Bloom for CS, but I would rather have CS and Morrigan for her meter assist. Look at Luvcheez

I’d like to see someone try to do the loop, but during the part of the loop where she lands on the ground and starts the ground series with the reflector again, instead switch to the glaive and finish the combo with that.

Edit: I know it’s been done before in one of the videos Capcom released; I’d just like to see someone do it in the release version. Also curious to see Elements’ damage when in X-Factor, now that I’m editing.

I have to admit, I don’t know much about the game but, if it’s like any other fighter the more you limit the opponents options the better your chance of winning. Like if Captain Commando in MVC2 had a heal assist, would you choose that over Corridor?

But like I said I don’t know much about the game (whiff normals = no meter is news to me) and I’d like to see some surprises.

It depends on the team. If you’re playing keepaway, CS is drastically less powerful than in a rushdown situation, so the Bloom could plausibly be worthwhile.

Hi I can’t quite figure this out from the move list and vids, is the extending beam attack a Dhalsim like ranged attack or is it like Hazama’s ouroboros and can be used for dragging Amaterasu around the screen as well as attacking?
