Im looking at a team full of gods. Unless they bring one of my major other favs. I see myself rocking Dante/Super Skrull/Ammy or Thor.

Theory fighter question- Anyone got any ideas on how to utilize the counter move?
well of COURSE you’re going to be covering that sort of shit with an assist, duh. But what I’m saying is that by itself, this is not going to be a move you can directly combo into such as genei jin. It’s got more startup and more cooldown than Zero’s sougenmou in TvC and that needed an assist or baroque in order for him to combo into it in most cases.
I wonder if one of the stages will be from Okami, like Nippon or something? if so, I would play it all the time because I know how BEAUTIFUL it will be!
also, I’m pretty sure that voice has got to be Issun. It can’ be the announcer, and I doubt they would have more than 1 announcers either. The only thing that could explain it that isn’ Issun, would be that it only plays during Amaterasu’s theme music.
I dunno. I just really hope its Issun.
Sadly, Nitsuma already confirmed in the stream that they did initially design an Okami stage, but thought it clashed too badly with the very “western comics” feel of the game and characters, so it was removed.
makes sense i guess, doesn’t look very comicy which is the vibe they are going for. Ill take the character over the stage any day anyway.

I wonder if the different weapons are just mapped as individual moves, or if each is a separate mode?
I’m so hype Capcom included her in this.
I noticed she has weapon switching ‘steps’ like Megaman Volnutt in TvC. So it’s safe to say her weapon switching is the same as his.
Basically, the steps themselves are her special moves, and they change the properties of her normals. So you would input 236A to change to ice magatamas/beads/sword/flame, then her normals would change accordingly. Because those moves are normals and her steps are specials, it will allow her to flow from attack to attack and cancel laggy moves into steps. Overall it’s one thing that made Volnutt such an interesting character.
That does sound cool. I should have plenty of fun getting creative with that. Should make for good times indeed.
Oh, makes sense. Each weapon swap is itself a move. This aspect of her having three sets of normals is pretty much something I was figuring she could have… I wonder if the defensive qualities of each will also be apparent, with the amount of chip damage you might take, or whatnot. No doubt they should be…
The switching was also very useful for mobility purposes. Volnutt was able to switch over an opponent for a quick crossup, or rapidly backstep switch to serve as a kind of replacement for a backdash. Dashing and instantly switching backwards was a good way to fake out the opponent, and since Ameterasu looks like she has a lot more range, I think she will really be able to do some tricky stuff with it.
At least you get to listen to a really cool Remix of “The Sun Rises.” That should make you happy.
