Bruckheimer's Prince of Persia movie to star Jake Gyllenhaal, now with trailer

No shit comrade, I just replied to this guy’s question.

Mother Land!

Nevermind, I figured his questions was specific to a good iranian actor for this movie…sowwy.

I wonder if they’ll actually give the prince a name in the movie. If I remember correctly in all of the games they never said his name. Everyone (even himself) always just said he was the prince of Persia.

Do not worry, all the Mexican extras dressed like persians will make up for this snowflake of a persian prince.

(Watch it, I swear it’s relative to this comment)

Obviously a persian actor would’ve been the best choice, but they chose to go with a well known american actor probably because they felt he would draw in a bigger audience then some lesser known guy.

Still though we can post how much we hate the white man taking up roles in films they have no place in or you can ask yourself if Gyllenhaal can pull it off or not. IMO he’s a good actor (especially in one of my favorite films the zodiac) and given the right makup and spray tan he might just be able to pull it off

Jake Gyllenhaal?..

Did the prince of persia have random gay anal sex?..

SOB, I was gonna post that!

When they casted Jake, he probably thought the movie was titled the Princess of Persia

Despite the obvious non-Persian WTF, dude’s actually a good actor so it doesn’t bug me all that much.

WTF? I’m going to lol for days.

I think the movie could’ve gotten much more hype if they casted an actually Persian/Iranian actor even if he was a unknown. Especially in this day and age where anything trans-political get highlighted by the media.

Haha.

Call me biased, but I think somebody like Johnny Depp could’ve worked. With his tan and long hair… and all…

I think this Jake is a decent actor, though I keep confusing him with Clive Owen.

Iran has as many decent actors by population ratio as America or any other country. I’ve seen a few movies and TV-series and was surprised by its high-quality in dialogs…

An actual Persian for the role is far from necessary, though… it’s just a movie. But the Chun Li actress better have the legs for it… that’s art.

First look at Jake as the Prince…

Is that Kevin Sorbo?:rofl::rofl::rofl:

Anyway, why all the hate? I mean Jake is one of the elite young actors out there…

I, for one, would like to see Doctor Bashir as the Prince of Persia. Jake Gyllenhaal. . .not so much. I mean, he was great as Donnie Darko. But I can’t visualize him flipping and traversing poorly-constructed death-traps, Sands-of-Time style.

I’m starting to get hyped.

lol and hollywood continues its hit or miss tactics with fans and nerds alike

I guess during casting selection every single Bollywood actor in existence was busy doing something else.

This actually looks interesting though unlike the Pirates trilogy.
