Brook Universal Fighting Board Thread

Yes. It’s no different from the PS360+ in the previous generation.

Glorious

Don’t know about how tournament legal your avatar would be though

Yes all Brook adapters are tournament legal because the developer works with the players and support here to make sure they are validated for play

Has anyone had any problems using this board? I bought one to replace my MCthulu and Imp boards and it worked great for a while on my PS4. Used it on my PC for emulators and it was fine but I put it down and didn’t use it for a few weeks. Couple of days ago I plugged it into my PS4 and after a few minutes my joystick stops responding. It DOES NOT disconnect, it just stops responding. Once I unplug it, I get a notice saying controller has been disconnected. When the cable is plugged in again, push the home button, and select a profile it works fine for a few minutes then stops responding again. Any advice? I spent $94 updating my joystick and I can’t play online matches cause it is an auto-win for my opponent. Thanks!

Sounds like 8 minute timeout.
Did you update to latest firmware?

it is 8 minute timeout
please log on to Brook’s website to download the latest firmware to do update.

I just installed a UFB into my VLX using Jasen’s EZ-Mod! Got it from Arcade-Shock in two days. Very happy so far, just one question. When I plug it into my Windows 10 computer in PS3 or PS4 mode and look at the inputs, the left analog stick always shows a tiny amount of random movement when I’m not doing anything. I haven’t noticed this affecting actual gameplay, so I’m not too worried, but is this normal/expected?

Hmm… that’s odd, me and @Vicko noticed the same thing on the Brook UFB build he did for me, but it was only in PS3 mode (Win7 |32bit). But yes, it’s only apparent in the joy.cpl window, and doesn’t effect game play.

Some kind of electrical noise getting into the analog stick lines? Interesting that it shows up in the direct input but not xinput modes.

The converter is your cheapest route, but what Vicko said is right… I have the TE2 Crossbone setup, and actually piggybacked both PS360+ and PAS Brooks breakout board. I flipped the sys2 setup so it goes to the Brooks PCB 1st, before the XB1 since I play SFV more than KI now.

And for the LED’s which LED are you talking about? the Madcatz logo or the Home/Guide LED? If it’s the latter, there is a way, and it’s in the TE2 Crossbone thread. He actually wrote out the wiring diagram to tell you which wire does (ie; use LED on/off/haptic button as PS4 touchpad, etc)…

Never answered about the potential Wiiu support?

Wii U and Wii support would be amazing. I also hope this is a possibility, lots of virtual console stuff I’d use a stick for and Tekken ball of course.

we will evaluate the possibility

The UFB will play Pokken Tournament on Wii U…Coming Soon

As a classic controller? As a Pokken controller? As something wireless(Gamepad/Pro controller) via an add-on?

Also unrelated to this, I had a product idea that would appeal to the WiiU guys, some way to use a keyboard and mouse in place of the gamepad, because so many games offer tilt as a way to shoot but a mouse would be much better.

@Smashbro29
As a Pokken controller…

Maybe a toggle to have it register as a Gamecube adapter too?

I just purchases a Brooks Universal Board,Paradise Arcade Shop 20 pin harness, and 10 foot USB cable.

Is there a step by step page or video that can help me understand how to install everything on a Madcatz TE Round 1 stick? Keep in mind I have never worked with joystick modding before or anything like it.

@jonyfraze done this video, its a generic basic install guide that should cover 99% of all installs.

@Vicko done this video of a install of a Brook UFB in a PS3 Mad Catz TE
