Brook Universal Fighting Board Thread

So I should be getting my board in on Monday, but I have two more questions:

  1. Are the VCC voltages common on both J3 and J5? Several people have mentioned to connect the USBVCC point on the MadCatz TE stick for the player LEDs to the VCC point on J3 rather than J5.

  2. Why are some people connecting a resistor to the VCC point on J5(like on the last page)? I thought the board has on board resistors already for the player LEDs.

Yeah it’s a bit cheaper from FA and other US retailers, but with the USD -> CAD rate right now, plus potential import fees, going with the overpriced Canadian seller might actually be around the same price as a US retailer, plus the shipping would be faster (that’s if they were even in stock).

Any one have issues with dropped inputs with the new firmware update?

I’ll look up to see what is BOOTCAMP, I don’t own a PC in my house. my wife has her MACbook pro & we all have iPhones. I’ll cross my eyes & fingers in hopes of figuring this out. still have mad love for Brook & their boards. if worse comes to shove I’ll find a friend with a PC that would help me

I updated to 1.4 using my Mac but still had the 8 minute timeout.
So I used my Windows 10 pc to update and it’s all good now.

@code7747

Why not create a windows partition on your comp?

I just downloaded 1.4 update on the Mac for my fighting board & UFB. I’m going to try it out & hope all is working perfectly… Half my friends own MAC as well. Crossing my eyes & fingers even harder …

no luck for MAC users , depression is real over here

I have the BUFB connected to a Hitbox. The mod works, but it times out after 10 min. What is the process on downloading update? Having trouble getting the update to start.

  1. You download the Windows Installer from Brook’s website.
  2. Open it.
  3. Plug your stick in while holding start/select.
  4. Follow the on screen prompts.
  5. Kick ass in SFV.

Website brookaccessory.com/download/ps4, correct? Having trouble starting the process what icons to click on.

@xXsamimanXx
Yes, please download this file ( Universal Fighting Board ) to fix timeout issue

@XxStanTheManxX you click the one that is not a pdf.

And you have to hold select/back/share and guide/home buttons while plugging it in.

Yes, follow steps on app to do.

After a few hours worth of searching, I’ve finally found this

I plan on getting an XBOX ONE TE2 (since it’s much cheaper to get here in Australia) and install a Brook UFB in it.

Based on this pinout, am I correct with the following?

  • Use pinout 1 for the touchpad press on the Brook UFB (TP_KEY) - don’t think this would be that easy since it has 3 cycles of functions
  • Use pin 3 for the home/guide on the UFB
  • Wire 5v and Gnd to the UFB
  • How can I wire pin 2 on the UFB to use the lock/unlock button? (same with using pin 1, a cycle of functions)
  • I don’t imagine anything else is required on the control panel

All others buttons should be directly wired to the IDC header

Any help would be greatly appreciated. TIA

if you have a PC click the pc link , MAC click MAC

I am getting nothing from the Brook website. There is no process saying to start updating.

I am pressing the correct buttons. But, is this all does directly from the Brook website?

I am pressing the correct buttons. But, is this the process done while on the Brook website

I am pressing the correct buttons. But, is this process done while on the Brook website? I see the icons ā€œManualā€, ā€œPCā€, & ā€œMacā€. The upper right-hand corner i click on downloads, i see the for choices and i click PS4. Nothing happens, just to back to the accessory icons for all the converters/PCB’s. Don’t know what is going on.

I have a PC, that is what i am clicking. What’s next? Do i have to buy a app for the download? Having trouble.
