You need PS to sign in to PS4 and to update the firmware on the board. A Must? yes, or it won’t work on ps4 as the console won’t connect to the stick without it.
You need share/select to update the firmware on the board. A must? yes, but only temporarily for updating.
You need start/options to pause the game/access options in the start menu. A must? Yes, you’ll have a hard time navigating games
Eventually, you’ll be able to use start/options+PS to update the firmware but until then you’re best solution is to wire up all but start/options and share/select then temprarily connect you’re 10th button to select/share so you can update the firmware, once updates disconnect it from there and connect it to start/options instead (its screwdown terminals so should be easy as long as you have access to them) until you either need to update firmware again or Brooks adds the start+PS update option.
I’m thinking of picking this board up to resurrect my old PS3 TE. If I were to order this board from a place like Arcadeshock, will the board be up to date? I’m looking for something where I can install and have it immediately ready to play?
If I do need to update something on the board, is the updating software OSX compatible or is it Windows only?
If you’re looking to resurrect your old PS3 TE, you’ll need to know how to solder to get the Home button and touchpad button working. You’ll also need to solder if you wanna use the existing USB cable. Other than that, ones you wire everything up, you’ll be good. I modded my old PS3 Fightstick Pro and a friend’s 360 TE so lemme know if you have any questions.
i’m assuming the new batch will have the latest firmware, but @GOGO.Zippy would know more.
firmware upgrade tool is windows only as far as i know.
there’s a thread somewhere on srk that i’ve also linked here for another post before – it details everything about wiring the PS3 TE turbo panel features like home, turbo, player indicator LED, etc.
Thanks to www.paradisearcadeshop.com for selling them with headers soldered on already, I was able to maintain my solderless mod that I had with the previous PS360+ pcb I had in there prior.
Yep I had the same issue with an MSI Krait gaming board, it had to be a mobo driver issue, the boards work perfectly on 2 other PC’s just not on the gaming board. I tested it on a different PC’s with the same OS loaded on it and it recognized the boards just fine.
I also had 2 Kade Encoders running on the board prior to upgrading to the Brooks and those worked fine for PC, the Brooks boards however crashed my PC immediately upon plugin BSOD Iusb3hub.sys error.
I gave up and just got an Xboxone and they work really well on that platform.
Tell me about it, i built a cabinet, for the new Mortal Kombat X, WB dropped PC support for the game, that was the first dagger. Then i go off and buy a mobo that the brooks board doesn’t like, 2nd dagger.
Yeah i hope they look into this and maybe some of the later patches will fix the problem for other users. I myself pulled the PC and put a console in the cabinet. I spend a whole week troubleshooting and it refused to work.
Just got my stick all together and seem to be having the same problem as Digital and Zombiewhere. Whenever I plug the cable into a USB 3.0 input I get a crash and is unable to boot again unless the cable gets unplugged. If i plug it into a regular USB port, I get no response at all.
I have a Gigabyte GA-Z87X-D3H ATX LGA1150 Motherboard with the latest bios and USB drivers. I tried the force method using 3P and plugging it in. This did nothing and it still crashed when plugged into a 3.0 port. I tested the stick out on my PS3 and it works perfectly. I have a wireless 360 controller that I use for other games and it has the latest driver installed as well.
Any suggestions or maybe something I may have missed/am doing wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Not sure if its been posted here already but my start/select buttons aren’t working even though they are screwed into the terminal in the correct ports.
Has anyone here had this issue as well and would this be considered a hardware or software issue?
I can maybe help you with some initial probs I ran into from my own mistakes.
When you first plug the board in, windows automatically tries to install the drivers for all of the different console modes.
If you exit out or unplug the cable you can mess up the installation of the drivers (I exited out of all the installations out of my own impatience).
So what I did was open the device manager while having the stick plugged in and manually uninstalled the drivers for each console mode (I replugged in the stick in each different mode).
Then I plugged in the stick for each mode and allowed it to automatically install the drivers for each console mode. Now my stick works fine for all modes.
