gonna post here since I’m new and have a few questions (i hope I’m not posting too much since i already have a thread started D:) but what exactly is needed to get the ps3/4 pcb working if i get the solder-less option from paradise arcade? i have an idea of what im doing with the pcb and what connects to where but what exactly do i need to install this thing to a HRAP3-SA that used to be ps3 only?
Where the wires connect is where you would connect the wires into the screw terminals that comes with the Paradise Arcade (Solderless Option).
Also recommended to purchase a 10 connection Daisy Chain Wire since the all buttons (Punches, Kicks, Start, Select) can be wired via common ground; however, the signal connections have to all be individual for each button to tell the board that this button is light, medium, heavy punch, etc.
That’s why I’m asking if the touchpad option is the main difference and if it’s necessary for any particular game? I know the FC4 doesn’t allow touchpad (I’ve installed quite a few).
Not neccissary but provides additional functionality.
For example:
USFIV touch lets you change button mapping in the character select screen (think select on the 360)
SFV touch lets you reset training mode. You can also do left/right+touch to reset in the left/right corner
As Zippy mentioned, this bored also has xinput so it works on whatever on PC (SFV on PC required xinput, dunno if thats still the case)
Sorry poison I just saw what you were asking. Yea man if you plan to play SFV (I mean who doesn’t right) it has its uses. In addition to what Chaotic said, it lets you button config in character screen like in USFIV
I just recently finished soldering the PCB and I am having difficulties with my devices reading the Brook Fightboard PCB:
I was able to successfully install the latest firmware update
PC - the pcb will only read as HID Transfer device. Even holding “PS” and “Share” button before inserting pcb, it always reads as HID transfer. I am currently running Win7 64 bit. I tried manually removing the drivers, trying all possible USB ports etc. and cannot get the pcb to read as anything other than HID Transfer device. I even tried another computer running Win7 and another computer running Win10 and still reads as HID Transfer.
PS4 - all buttons (1-4 P and K, PS, Share, Options) were initially successful. OK (This is on Version 3.15)
PS3 - I believe the PS3 is recognizing the device properly, it is not displaying "device unrecognizable but no buttons work. I tried holding “PS” and “Share” button before inserting pcb but still no response.
Then I plug it back into the PS4 and get no buttons working again… PC same as above…
@GOGO.Zippy
Thank you for the reply. I did exactly as you recommended and the firmware stated it updated “Successfully”. I then noticed that the USB was recognized as a “xbox 360 controller” which was different then my previous attempts. I then removed the USB from the computer.
When I plugged the USB into the PS4 there was no response. All buttons were not working.
Then I plugged the USB into the PS3 and there was no response. All buttons were not working.
I then plugged it back into the PC but this time it was recognizing it as a HID transfer device.
I attempted re-installing the Firmware and it stated updated “Successfully” however, it doesn’t work on any device. I am starting to think my PCB could be at fault…
