Brook Converters Thread

I have my Red PS to X1 converter and am trying to update it to put the tournament-mode firmware on. I only have my Hori RAP4 stick, which does have an L3 button. The update app keeps telling me to insert controller, even though it’s done. I press the button sequence and get the lights to light, can even get to “update” screen but the update fails. I’m under the impression I’m doing it right, have tried using PS4 and PS3 mode on the stick.

Recently acquired the white brook ps3 to ps4 converter. (Received in mail today.)

Short version: Attempted to use the “OPTIONAL!” firmware for “tournament” restrictions. Couldn’t make it work and repatched to most recent firmware and seems to be working. Should I be avoiding “tournament” restrictions in my case?

Long version:
Attempted (OPTIONAL!)PS3 to PS4 20160114 patch on the brookaccessory.com website. (Used, what I believe to be, PS360+ arcade stick to do this.)

Update firmware with ZPPN001-A_TE_V11_20160115.exe firmware update. Could not exit update mode on converter and computer no longer recognized arcade stick + converter as a game controller. Attempted to patch with ZPPN001-B_V14_20151029.exe (probably unnecessary?), and it does not recognize that converter is connected so no update done.

Updated firmware to most recent ZPPN001-A_V15_20160205.exe. Now back to original working state, I believe. Computer recognizes arcade stick + converter as PS4 Wired Gamepad.

Anything I can try to get “tournament” restrictions working on the converter?

Thanks.

@Sielanas
(1)Which OS do you use to update?
(2)Please try again.

Please look video file to do…

@Theli
We followed your steps to do, everything is fine.
Step1: ZPPN001-A_V15_20160205.exe >> updated successful >> Turns on Blue LED.
Step2: ZPPN001-A_TE_V11_20160115.exe >> updated successful >> Turns on Red+Blue LED.
Please follow combo keys (use D-PAD’s Left instead of L3) to enter and exit updating mode.

GOGO.Zippy I got a important, and possibly difficult question for you.

I been looking into alternatives for a old compatibility problem early Mad Catz PS3 controllers had with PCs.
The old Mad Catz Street Fighter IV SE and Mad Catz Street Fighter TE Round 1 and Round 2 sticks operate on UHCI Intel protocols. The USB chip on most mother boards didn’t support UHCI.
The old work around was to find a USB PCI card that supported UCHI. This solution only helped out desk tops and not laptops.

Would one of your Brooks super converters allow a UCHI controller such as the old Mad Catz sticks work on a PC without UHCI support.

I know it’s a tough question, but if anyone have an answer I figured it be you.
I want to make a updated version of this the thread MadCatZ PS3 TE FightStick: PC - Xp- vista- win7 32-64bit (read 1st post)
and I figure I look into all possibilities before I start a updated version of the guide.

My solution to the problem was just to install a different PCB, Like the two Brooks PCBs (or another PC compatible board).
But not everyone is conformable with rewiring their stick.

@Darksakul
Thanks your nice experience.
We continued finding problem in different USB port 2.0 & 3.0 port on mother board.

Thanks for the quick response. I know it isn’t a easy question I threw I you.

Hey there zippy can u send me the fix so i can update without a wireless 360 controller i am using a hitbox

@LouieBH
Which converter do you want to update?

I have a ps360+ hitbox which converter should i get the xbox360 to ps4 converter or the ps3 to ps4 converter the latter is more expensive from what i can tell but im wondering if there is a difference in input lag maybe?

ah same one i have the green xbox360 to ps4 adapter

I did use the Left instead of L3. This was how I was able to enter updating mode initially. But it did not work after the ZPPN001-A_TE_V11_20160115.exe update.

It is possible that the arcade stick I am using is not ps360+ after all.

Thanks for the response.

Oh OK that’s cool, I just wanted to know for future reference if it were to require updates. If I can just use the PS360+ device itself (I have a hitbox) and I don’t need an L3 button then that’s all good! I have ordered the Yellow converter I asked about before but it hasn’t arrived yet. I’m only going to be using it at locals anyway - at home I play on PC :).

One final question - The PS360+ I have has a modded firmware which makes the hitbox behave with Asynchronous SOCD like on this video (the hitbox behaves as normal keyboard would when played on USF4/SF5):

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IMHT50OgvOQ

any idea if it will auto clean the SOCD inputs removing the “Charge character SOCD” that’s currently enabled?

I received my Xbox One -> PS4 converter. Did the updates, and it works flawlessly. Not a single hitch. Thank you so much for this wonderful adapter.

Got my 360>ps4 converter in the mail today from VGNY. It works perfect out of the box. Thanks!

Does anyone know if the madcatz TES+ shadaloo fight stick can become compatible with the xbox one if i use a brook converter ?

@LouieBH
Please look your inbox.

Can the PS3 Round 1 and Round 2 TE sticks work on PC with a ps3 to x360 converter?

Heya also is it potentially possible to map the directional pad input to the analog input? as I’m on a dp only stick I plan on using it to play an analog game/rpg would it be possible to do that with the brooks?

might it also be possible to set it to switch from dp to analog through a button combination?
If not and it can only be through firmware ill likely get another one

Ill check my inbox now!

What stick are you using (or the board inside) ?

There also 3rd party programs that can remap controller functions.
Keep in mind, even if you get your joystick to map as an analog stick, you will not get analog movement from the joystick.
Meaning you not get the nice, smooth movement transitions of a real analog joystick. It will still give you 8 directional movements.

Im on the hitbox with ps360 i intend to try get it working as an LS with a wii converter
