British Columbia 3rd Strike Ranking Battle Season 1 Sign Up Thread

me and mazdak dont play 3s anymore

he just goes on hikes up the river and builds fires and stuff and eats berries like a monkey man

ive become a slave to poker

but if u guys set it up well i might host a ranking battle at my house if ppl want to come

if there aren’t enough players at Zees, we’re have to merge ML and Zees.

we’ll have a big tourney with everyone in the league at some point… Rush is more doable than ML for tournies… it gets too crowded in there you know?

lol tourney should be at my house!!!

my house is bombsauce!

hahaha mazdak and tariq aren’t friends anymore

THE ROAD IS LONG!!! WITH MANY UNWINDINGS!!!

WHATttttTT???

Fuck you Roy! I didn’t come up with that the SOCAL guys did! I’ll just rape you in the ranbats bitch! HAHAHAHA see you saturday Roy!:lovin: and Keni too!! (I hope):lovin:

Ryan so if we have 4 divisions we can have semi-playoffs between, say, ML and JZ then Rush and TariqsHouse? Then we have a playoff playoff?

That’s like creatiing more work hahaha

Mig has a good point nonetheless. K, here is my suggestion:

During the middle of the season (After about 100 recorded games), I will organize ROAD GAMES based on people’s performance.

For example:

ML’s #1 has 30 wins and 0 losses and Rush’s #1 has 31 wins and 4 losses. Since they are both number 1, they play each other.

ML’s #9 has 2 wins and 23 losses, and Rush’s #9 has 0 wins and 15 losses… they play each other.

And with regards to WHERE it will be played, I suggest either the players arrange it themselves, or if they have the time, play at both locations. Either 10 games at 1 location or 5 games at each location.

And since somebody will ask me this: If, for example, Rush has 12 players and ML has 9, this is what will happen:

ML#9 plays both Rush #10 and #12
ML #8 plays both Rush #9 and #11

However, games with #12 will NOT count for #9… because otherwise ML#9 will have 10 recorded games more than everybody else. That same goes to ML#8 and Rush #11. Games will only count for the Rush player.

It sounds confusing, but it’s actually pretty straight forward.

a²+b²=c²

i’m kinda thinking we should just do it up like how sports leagues schedule their games.

take the existing roster and have a certain amount of games dedicated to the “on the road” portion and have another number of games for “at home” play. and let’s not have the seeding just yet. for the regular season, everyone gets to play everyone, regardless of what we look at as skill level. when the regular season ends, then we can really get into the seeding.

round robin it is!

i concur!!

i think EVERYONE should just play EVERYONE ten games

or a race to ten

and then record those

and then the best players from each league should play each other or something

but then who cares, let’s just all play!

everyone playing everyone 10 games or so is good, but within those 10 games, we have the option of making it a best of whatever just to make things interesting and not so short-lived.

also, we can add a little more variety this way:

ML player 1 vs. Rush player 5 @ Rush

JZee’s player 2 vs. ML player 3 @ JZee’s

Rush player 2 vs. JZee’s player 4 @ JZee’s

JZee’s player 1 vs. ML player 2 @ ML

and so on, and so forth.

we can have that in the span of a week or 2 or whatever, wherein each of the players travels to whichever arcade their match is set. if a certain player isn’t scheduled to play vs. anyone, they can accompany whoever it is that’s playing to watch and then just practice afterwards.

oh

hey i have an idea

let’s make this like apex

the top placers in each leage/division will go into like a tournament

so if there’s 4 divisions… the top two people in each league go into an eight man tourney

or a 16 man tourney, for the top 4 players in each division

i think we’ve got enough for a 16 man tourney right???

the thing is, without disrespect to Cameron… i don’t think Alvin would wanna make a 50minute trip to rush to play him. that’s why it should be #1 players play each other, #2 players play each other etc. IMHO

a cross-arcade round robin would prove troublesome, because some players REALLY don’t wanna have their skills measured on alien sticks.

There should be a bonus round where you choose your opponent’s character for him.

and that’s exactly why whoever isn’t scheduled to play should tag along so 1) there can be some games played that “don’t matter” and 2) so the people who normally don’t travel can see what other players are like.

Okay how about exhibition games before and after each season? Games may be recorded if players wish, but they don’t count towards anything?

This way we can organize a Rush to ML trip… without having to care about scoring. If that goes well we can have a ML to Rush trip?

edit: Okay, exhibitions can start anytime. Players can get to know each other during the exhibitions, so it’s easier for them to contact each other for season games in the future. I’ll try to get everybody in the Rush division to show up for a couple meets so they can exchange numbers and stuff.

like a 60 second rotating Third Strike dating service.

for pre-season, sure they won’t count towards anything, but when the season actually starts, then they should. my suggestion was that it shouldn’t just be that 1 player who’s scheduled to play that travels. he can bring anyone else from his division (or otherwise) along so after the scheduled match, casuals can be played or whatever else.

LAWL.
