Yeah, I didn’t do so hot on those sticks tonight. The distance needed to be traveled in order to hit the gates on Rush’s sticks is very small, and even more so when compared to ML’s sticks. I think this is what gave me my huge problems when it came to linking because I had hella opporunities to do so when I was playing Necro, and because I have had some japanese stick play at least a month ago at CHQ by playing HnK, so playing on japanese sticks isn’t so much of a problem even though I hadn’t gone to Rush for like 2-3 months.
Of course by me saying this, if the above didn’t happen it probably wouldn’t changed the outcome of any of the matches I played. But yeah, that’s why I didn’t attempt to play Yun. If you don’t have execution on par with him, your going to die real fast and end up feeling shitty.

tariq its not true that i wanted to quit because of mazdak. mazdak dissed me and that didnt get under my skin I only said how I could walk away cause while I like the game(s) Im not gonna miss it or grieve. im not vulnerable to what mazdak said either its kindof like i just started feeling fed up with him and when he said hed like to recreate what happened to me that night I just got thinking well fuck this shit. this is becoming really gay i dont really feel like playing anymore if people are going to be fags. I still think what mazdak said about me was like the worst thats came out of anyones mouth. and it had nothing at all to do with games.
Personally you cant really motivate me or demotivate me. all i will say is that i dislike playing people who play to defeat me as a person. that doesnt even make me want to improve my gameplay and look for mistakes with my characters, but it makes me want to look for mistakes about my actual personal self. which is unpleasant when someone you dont even know actually sees you that way and they are using a game like third strike as a medium to attack you personally.
what i actually mean by people playing to attack you personally is like when you goto the arcade and put in your money and lets say its cvs2. they beat your first character. then they leave. or they leave when you start to do good against them. Or they just leave randomly during a game and decide its better to sit down on the seat of racing game and stare off into space. or decide that its a smoke break time when its 1 and 1 and youre on the third round.
they might not be playing to attack you personally. but they definately have no problem about wasting your time or money. and usually if they are gonna do that. they are gonna have problems with you winning rounds. and if they disrespect you on a personal level that much. they probably arent going to keep giving you games and risk losing to someone like “me”. i dont know what is “someone like me” is should I fucking look into it. is it my skin color. my height. my hair. my voice. well w/e i will ignore that i came to play games but oh thats right they arent playing anymore they walked away when I came too close to winning for their comfort level and their high tech phone that has has no ring and wasnt vibrating on the cabinents suddenly grabs the attention of this person and the person needs to flip through the menus and take a walk. maybe not coming back and if he does its with his friend who beats me once and then they leave once and for all and then well its gg i need to travel back home now. no fuck that shit.

anyway. this league idea is great i dont care if some people dont want to be in it it doesnt mean that it isnt competitive. like if russia beats canada in hockey but joe sakic was on vacation does that mean that russias victory doest count? does the olympics not happen because someone cant make it or is injured or because someone is now too old to be in the olympics. or lets say joe sakic is present and canada does win and russia goes “wait our star player wasnt present, we havnt discovered him yet im sure theres more great hockey players in our country that just need to be trained at hockey. but they were not present on out team so you winning doesnt count” then canada goes “oh same for us not everyone in canada plays hockey, hockey didnt reach everyone in their youth im sure theres some great canadian hockey talent not present atm.” like seriously how can you ever say that the teams are fair, or that the brackets are fully representative.
for instance. tao goes to the marvel olympics but duc vader and justin wong werent there. he wins the marvel olympics. is he the champion. he knows of two people who mightve won against him who werent there. so what does he say to himself. ok and then you add these two people to the marvel olympics. what then. tao wins. has he really defeated everyone. what if in mexico theres these genius kids who play marvel with each other. their twins and can give tao and these people a run for their money that have never heard of the marvel olympics. or people that are yet to be born. we gotta wait for the people yet to be born we have to postpone the league to accomodate them. see its extremely silly to invalidate any form of competition.

Playing with Tao is helping me with dealing with pressure. Same with playing season games. I will get better and better in future seasons as I learn how to deal with being intimIDated by pressure and playing players better than me.

I checked out Movieland yesterday and got owned by complexsomethingorother. Good times.
I’m pretty stoked I found out about the meets (someone posted the flyer for the league on the SF mailing list at my work – we have a CE machine and play for kicks). It’s been a while since I’ve played against people who play regularly. I’ve been missing the social side of the game, and can’t really get any better playing on my own, so this is a good thing all around.
I think the league is a great idea. Even if it doesn’t finish through somehow, it’s already bring more players together. I know, most of the fresh faces are noobs or scrubs, but everybody starts as a scrub.
Much props to Keni for organizing this. It’s not easy work, and he doesn’t get no pay for this. It’s just pure passion.
Personally, I think it would suck if somebody knew how to play S3, but thought no other people play no more. Hence he stops playing as well. Then it turns out all of the players just thought nobody plays no more. It’s a waste of good competition.
